Each week, an influx of thoughts and comments on that week's game bombard my inbox.

Guide Roland around the maze, using the many blocks to push his biscuits into an area he can eat them from.

Today's attempts at the online fixings didn't work out.. Again!
I'm totally lost as to how to do that. Bah, humbug!
So, instead I started work on the next game.
I'm not 100% sure if this'll work out, but I'm aiming to make a sokoban-esque crate pushing puzzle game.
It might end up taking a couple of weeks, as I'll need to somehow come up with a nice way to generate levels. .. Or actually make them!!

Planned to do coding, today. And, though I did do some coding, it wasn't anything to do with the Framework!

It's taken quite a while to get up to this point, but I now have the engine half-doing a "Which button is pressed" function.
I can push a keyboard button, or tap a button on a connected controller, and the engine says "This button!"
There's a slight issue, whereby if a button is held, it takes control.
For example, if you're playing on the keyboard, but your gamepad's lying on the floor, and the thumbstick is prodded to the side, then no matter what button you try to hit, i...

2018 Framework
7th December 2017
A brief roundup of the things I've managed to accomplish, during 2017.

1. Online Scoreboards

It's been a long time since I last had online scoreboards in my general AGameAWeek games. iOS's GameCenter made me lazy, and I could never be bothered to implement anything more complicated into my Framework.
But this year, I opted to take on the challenge, so right at the start of this year I added an "Enter Your Name" thing into my framework, and tied the scoreboard system to the ...

If you can, please give this benchmarker a run.
It's a simple little tool.
Unzip it, run the .exe, and watch as three "Bloke" sprites circle around for a little while.
Don't touch anything. The benchmark tool will do it all for you.

2018 Framework
31st October 2017
Today's tweaks have been numerous and varied, although mostly concentrating on controller based stuff.
As in the Monkey framework, F1 toggles Debug Mode (the framerate on the bottom), and F11 now toggles Fullscreen mode.
Clicking on the screen draws a rock, which looks like a sponge.
I've not begun doing Multitouch, yet.

This week's game is scrapped.
The idea seemed sound. Take random obscure animal, try to make a game from it.

And with the push of a button, WordPress is gone.
AGameAWeek is no longer held on a WordPress script, and now runs on a self-written "AGameAWeek" script.
Blog, Games, Pixelart, Music and Poetry are all part of the new single script, although there are occasional trips to other scripts for things like the Music Player and the Pixelart Calendar generator.

I keep trying to tweak things, like the Private Message system, or Newsletter or other things, and it's getting harder and harder to juggle both versions of the site at the same time.
