Scrapped another game, last night.
That's about 5 games I've started and abandoned in the space of a few days.
I can't seem to focus on anything, at all, and it's getting rather silly.
Can I make an entire game, today?

I think I'll skip a new "Main" game, this week

The word puzzle/game thing I thought was going to work has also ended up being abandoned.
The game's own logic became its downfall!

A decade is over, and what have I done?
373 games, created a new blogging script for here, rewritten the Socoder forum, started a few new sites and more!
Oh, and a brain tumour!
It's been a wild and crazy decade, and over the next few days I'll be looking back at the best (and worst) games from the decade.

Last night I thought "What game can I whip up in a few hours", and out popped Vexed.
That's today's Advent Treat, but don't be expecting a brand new game every day!!
It's in the Shoebox, now, and I'll post it in a jiffy.

I took most of the day off, yesterday.
Writing 4 games a week is harder than it sounds!!!

At 3pm I have to be at the town hall, where I'm having a discussion with a council worker about my upcoming disability tribunal.
Oh the fun!!
As such, any and all coding will probably be abandoned for much of the day, as my mind whizzes around trying to decide what I'm going to say, and all that kind of gubbins.
Not a fan of this kind of thing, if I'm honest.
Hopefully I'll get back on track, later tonight.

I can't find the fun in "Car vs Traffic Cones".
.. not even Mutant Killer Cones could save this game!

Game scrapped

So, I have a PetitSwitch game to work on, and a Shoebox game to keep me going.
Today I have to post the weekly SoCoder newsletter, the template for which has been mostly abandoned all week, with me concentrating on PetitSwitch, and then I also need to post this week's ALChoon, too.
.. Today's going to be "one of those" days...

I added that function for good reason, and Alan seems determined to make me use it!!

I've just spent the past couple of hours trying to fix a really stupid bug in the game logic.
All of a sudden, enemy rooks could leap over your pieces.
I looked into the code, and ... Yeah, I can see how that's happening.
The issue being, of course, that to fix it I'd need to rewrite a significant chunk of the movement code, and probably break a whole bunch of other things along the way.

Which project?
The one I started yesterday, obviously!!

I spent about 80% of yesterday choosing a font!

As I struggle to decide on what to do about a Xmas launch, I'm jumping about from unfinished projects, half started ones, and then things like Foldapuz which will never be complete, as it's just another great big pile of games!

Having spent a good few hours wrangling the object/baddie spawning, I've finally settled on a playable game.

Today I'm going to reattempt the "Draw tiles to a buffer, draw the buffer" stuff.

It seems that if you have a .php file inside a folder, then it gets its own error_log file, meaning all this time I've been having a little error log grow inside an old abandoned folder, because I forgot it had a broken .php file in there!

You've probably not noticed, but the "Donate" button that was on the far right of the main menu has changed back into a "Patreon" button.
Last year, after the whole "Charging Patreons extra" business, I mostly abandoned the thing, removed all the links, and said "Sorry guys, no point in this" to the 3 Patreon subscribers.
They've stuck with me, though, and so I figured it was probably about time I started to give back a little something extra.
T...

I should probably make this a regular thing, again. It's always fun to get a little back'n'forth going.

Recently, i saw a Choplifter game (Game Gear), on youtube and thought, with a bit of imagination,the rescuees looks like the platdude. So my idea is, if you like to make a Choplifter Clone or alike with platdude. At least something with Helicopter ? ^^;

Tonight I started a new project.
#559 - Topsplodings
And that's as far as I got.

Action-Based Snake game seems to be the plan for this week.
It's mostly based on the abandoned Action part of the Biscuit game, but feels much better as a standalone game.

The 3D Printer arrived.
I spent most of the day doing the setup.

Things I've attempted and failed, today.

So, after having read up on URL access for a couple of hours, I managed to get about 0% through it, yesterday.
I might actually end up trying to find a proper book on the subject, and having a good focused read-through. .. Although I imagine any book would probably focus on Win/Linux, and not the cross-platform usage I'm after.
I've really coded myself into a pickle, here!

I really need to get back to working on Sheep Goes Right. It's really not a good idea to leave it half-finished like that, but I'm kinda enjoying working on the new Framework so much that I've not had much time to look back at older things.
