Karl's Tiny Adventure was created way, way, way back in March of this year.
You can (URL "https://AGameAWeek.com/GameList.php?ShowJust=288">Play Karl's Tiny Adventure here). The game was my first true test of proper "Image Data Loading", and my first proper lesson in Android Fragmentation. Annoyingly, because different Android devices operate in slightly different ways, the Image Data Loading wasn't occurring in an accurate manner, and as a result, the level data was getting all screwed... During most of October I've been building up a lovely little "Compendium".
The idea was to make a collection of 25 little games, and pop it up as a sort of Advent Calendar type thing, but without it being thematically Christmassy, so that you could happily enjoy it at any time of the year. It's been about 2 or 3 weeks since I started the project. I got a lovely menu system working, and managed to fit all the usual scoreboard/icon/etc elements in. Views 5, Upvotes 1

Just because I'm taking September off from my regular AGameAWeek schedule, doesn't mean there won't be fun times ahead! I've decided to keep you entertained with a few oddities that have collected on my hard drive for the past decade or so, but have mostly been unpublished due to being "a bit shit", or me having lost their sourcecode.
These are games that I've always considered to be part of my archive, but for various reasons I've never actually bothered to add to the thing. Games that I occas... Views 77, Upvotes 12

<img src="https://socoder.net/AGAWGold_128.png" style="float:right;"> AGameAWeek Gold takes a trip through my archive of games, and plucks out any games that may have been previously released on this day in history.
Sometimes it finds recent games from the past few years of me doing AGameAWeek. Other times, however, it finds really really really old games, from a time when the concept of doing a new game every week wasn't even a gleam in my eye! Views 57, Upvotes 14

In a change to our regularly scheduled April-Project, I've decided to stop pulling my hair out, and instead do something different.
Grrr.. What we're left with, however, is a nice happy little game for up to four players, so that's nice. Views 82, Upvotes 13

By now you've probably routed around inside the JayArchive.
It's a nice thing to flick through, but sometimes folk can't be bothered to download 150+ seperate little downloads. So, rather than leave it up to random picking, here's 11 nice big zip files, with EVERYTHING for Windows. (up until today) Each big zip file is numbered with it's associated JayRank. I managed to get the Archive up to 100 games.
Counting subgames it's all the way up to 126! woot! That's games from May 2006 up to now. Not a bad count, but certainly not AGameAWeek. Views 20, Upvotes 5

Nothing special this week. If you knew me at the time I did Green's Tiny Collection, then you've no doubt seen this game.
<img src="https://AGameAWeek.com/shots/bouncer1.png"> I thought I'd post it, though, to remind myself of what a great idea it once was. Keep control of both Platdude and his football. Views 142, Upvotes 30

"Create a Horizontal Shooter".. That was the compo rules for The Horizontal Shooter compo, over at SHMUP-Dev.. Or at least I think it was there.
I started this entry in January 2006. I know this because the game has a directory numbered 031..Since starting Wed.Workshop I've been numbering all my dev-dirs according to the number of that week's workshop! <img src="https://AGameAWeek.com/shots/exp-hs.png"> Why I never finished it, I don't know. Sometimes you forget about games!
I worked on this game for a while, back in early 2003. The idea was to nick the whole Pokemon idea, and create a bizarre Coding based adventure game. So, I nicked the graphics, too! <img src="shots/exp-code.png"> Views 125, Upvotes 21

Theory. I can make 3 versions of Platdude in 3D.
All three will be inside a box area. Version 1 will be a maze-like affair, with a multi layered floor, and 4 walls. Version 2 will be up against one of the walls and will play in a classic platform style. Version 3 will take the whole box area and fill it with Super Amazing Platforming Fun! .. These were my thoughts when first trying out Blitz3D, 5 years ago. <a href="https://AGameAWeek.com/shots/exp-p3d.png"><img src="https://A... Views 116, Upvotes 26

Super Dig Dug
Blog
19th June 2007
When I started doing Wed.Workshop, a few people complained that a week was too short a time, so in September 2005 I did the first and only Monthly Workshop. The Super September Challenge asked people to recreate a classic 8-bit game in a 16-bit style, and add some silly extras that people kept adding to games around that time.
My entry was to be Super Dig Dug. It started off well enough, but then the sound started going all screwy, and I couldn't be bothered fixing it. So it was left to rot... Views 152, Upvotes 25
