Each week, Player's submit their thoughts on that week's game.
Let's see what people thought of Bug destruction!
RSKGamesGame Overview: In a randomly generated level infested with a small number of big green bugs and lot of smaller white bugs the player is a floating exploding bomb. Using just 3 bombs per level the player has to kill all the green bugs to progress to the next level.Views 165, Upvotes 71

Each week, players send their notes on that week's release.
Let's take a peek at their comments, and share some random thoughts, too!
RSKGamesInitial Thoughts: Looking at the screenshots during the development I felt the game is going to be a fun flying game like "Flapaddidle" but the use of a bird and the background are the only similarities between the 2 games. The gameplay is totally different game. In this game the bird can only fly or dive once per key press no flapping around.Views 235, Upvotes 47

This week, I've been working on the game Penguin Parade.
This is a semi sequel to the game that appeared in Alpha Collexion, but in reality is more of a Lemmings clone.
Over the course of this week, I've built a sturdy engine, made a few "skills", and got a decent control method to work on gamepads. I've animated a penguin, and got a few GUI elements in place, and .. In general.. I've made a nice solid little game. (URL "https://AGameAWeek.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/img_2251.jpeg">&l...

DevelopmentsNothing much worth reporting again, today. I've still been fiddling about with characters some more, and playing around with their various physics. I really oughta be working on the level structure a little, so I might stop faffing about with characters and instead focus on the look of the levels a little more. All the pieces are currently coming together to create something a little less special than the original, so hopefully I can find something magical along the way that brig...Views 21, Upvotes 8

DevelopmentsWith SpikeDislike3 out the door ('ish), ChuckABall ready to relaunch (chuck?) and Invisible Munky already getting played by at least one person, it's time to think ahead to what project comes next. DevelopmentsAfter a game's release, half the fun is watching the aftermath, and scrawling the internet for comments. On this occasion, however, I pretty much know what's coming. Invisible Munky 2 isn't a game that I'm expecting to be popular, or fondly remembered, (it hasn't thus far, anyway..) so any comments and feedback will be minimal. And yet I wait, and I watch, and I hunt the net to try to find ANYTHING to do with the game. But. Nope. The WorldWide Web has fallen mostly silen...Views 22, Upvotes 7

DevelopmentsI spent a lot of yesterday faffing about with the "Start" screen of SpikeDislike3. At first I intended to have a giant spike be in the center of the screen, and in fact that's what happened for quite a while, but .. I'm not sure why, but I decided to switch to circles instead. Reusing my generic stripy circle from my basic menu meant I didn't have to redraw anything, and the new "Start" screen looks rather neat. .. or at least, for something I've done, it does! I spent some t...Views 39, Upvotes 8

DevelopmentsYesterday was spent fixing up little things in SpikeDislike3. I got Predetermined Layouts working, but still haven't bothered to implement any sort of collision detection! Still, you can now start a round, have it spawn the spikes in the same place, and then exit back to the menu. Having the spikes show up in the same place, is of course super important in SpikeDislike, as you learn the layouts of the level, and try not to die for ages and ages. I'll have to add a couple of ra...Views 20, Upvotes 7

Another sequel in the Kee Bo Ard collection. I've so far built a fairly capable engine, but am struggling to decide exactly what I'd like to do with it. I've got the game up to a "You can complete a level" po...

Ok, so, I need a new archive.
It's been a good number of years since I originally created the Jayenkai Archive, and although the software's lasted through a fair number of rethemes, and a fair number of enhancements over the years, it all still pretty much has the exact same issues that it did on day one.

Just a few short hours ago, I hadn't yet started a game for Tuesday, so in a vaguely panicked state, I decided to cobble something together.
I've attempted this game a few times in the past couple of years, and each time I've tried, it's never quite come up to the same standard as the original and it's sequel.

RE : Flappy Bird
Blog
9th February 2014
I have no issues with the game.
It's a bit shit, but then so is SpikeDislike.. SpikeDislike is "ball bounces, move right..." and has little or no substance beyond that.
Of course, I then added a wonderful combo system, and then made a sequel with oodles of lovely new gameplay styles and plenty of options and such, but at it's heart it's still the same game it always was. Ball bounces, move right...
In many ways, so is flappy bird.
Flappy bird is "that helicopter game", but with harder obstacles to ...

Welcome to the Top 13 AGameAWeek Games of 2013
No other Top-10 lists appear to want to give any of my games any recognition at all, which kinda sucks since I've made a whole bunch of REALLY great games, this year! I don't even get a token "Made a shitload of games, this year" mention!
Sucks!!
So, sod them all, I'll make my own Top-10 list.
And it'll be all my games, and I'll even add a few more just to make it a bit more 2013 relevant.
That'll show 'em!!

My first experienceMe and Spinal were discussing OUYA. He'd just bought one, and was trying to get Monkey to work with it. I dared to mention OUYA in a tweet, and so was instantly followed by OUYAForum's tweetbot, @OUYAForum_com "Nnngh. A generic bloody tweetbot. Can't these companies behave properly?" I thought, and I otherwise ignored it and carried on. A few days later, another minor mention of OUYA on Twitter sparked a second following by OUYAForum's tweetbot. "Hmmm.. Along the way we'll discover some great gems that I'd forgotten about, or occasionally the odd bit of garbage that I'm frankly happy to have forgot about!
