I'm not 100% sure that I can squeeze two more games into the short amount of OUYA-Review time we've got left.

This week, I've been working on the game Penguin Parade.
This is a semi sequel to the game that appeared in Alpha Collexion, but in reality is more of a Lemmings clone.
Over the course of this week, I've built a sturdy engine, made a few "skills", and got a decent control method to work on gamepads.  I've animated a penguin, and got a few GUI elements in place, and .. In general.. I've made a nice solid little game. (URL "https://AGameAWeek.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/img_2251.jpeg"...

Nothing much worth reporting again, today.
I've still been fiddling about with characters some more, and playing around with their various physics.
I really oughta be working on the level structure a little, so I might stop faffing about with characters and instead focus on the look of the levels a little more. All the pieces are currently coming together to create something a little less special than the original, so hopefully I can find something magical along the...

With SpikeDislike3 out the door ('ish), ChuckABall ready to relaunch (chuck?) and Invisible Munky already getting played by at least one person, it's time to think ahead to what project comes next.
For a while, I've been wondering if I should attempt a newer edition of (URL "https://AGameAWeek.com/GameList.php?ShowJust=325">Boxsplodings).
It's a fun little game, but was quite limited by the number of levels and how they were organised.

After a game's release, half the fun is watching the aftermath, and scrawling the internet for comments.
On this occasion, however, I pretty much know what's coming.
Invisible Munky 2 isn't a game that I'm expecting to be popular, or fondly remembered, (it hasn't thus far, anyway..) so any comments and feedback will be minimal.

I spent a lot of yesterday faffing about with the "Start" screen of SpikeDislike3.
At first I intended to have a giant spike be in the center of the screen, and in fact that's what happened for quite a while, but .. I'm not sure why, but I decided to switch to circles instead.
Reusing my generic stripy circle from my basic menu meant I didn't have to redraw anything, and the new "Start" screen looks rather neat. .. or at least, for something I've done, it does!

Yesterday was spent fixing up little things in SpikeDislike3.
I got Predetermined Layouts working, but still haven't bothered to implement any sort of collision detection!
Still, you can now start a round, have it spawn the spikes in the same place, and then exit back to the menu.
Having the spikes show up in the same place, is of course super important in SpikeDislike, as you learn the layouts of the level, and try not to die for ages and ages. I'll have to a...

Another big gap, as I try to figure out what's happening next. I figured you guys oughta be kept up to date with current goings on, in the world of AGameAWeek, so here's a rough bit of blogging so that you can vaguely assume you know what's going on!
Current projects are..
1. Kee Bo Ard Go Deep
Another sequel in the Kee Bo Ard collection. I've so far built a fairly capable engine, but am struggling to decide exactly what I'd like to do with it. I've got the game up to a "You can complet...

Ok, so, I need a new archive.
It's been a good number of years since I originally created the Jayenkai Archive, and although the software's lasted through a fair number of rethemes, and a fair number of enhancements over the years, it all still pretty much has the exact same issues that it did on day one.

Just a few short hours ago, I hadn't yet started a game for Tuesday, so in a vaguely panicked state, I decided to cobble something together.
I've attempted this game a few times in the past couple of years, and each time I've tried, it's never quite come up to the same standard as the original and it's sequel.

It was somewhat inevitable that we'd have to revisit the world of SpikeDislike, and since the last game was released around about a year ago, I might as well treat us all to a brand new release!

I have no issues with the game.
It's a bit shit, but then so is SpikeDislike.. SpikeDislike is "ball bounces, move right..." and has little or no substance beyond that.
Of course, I then added a wonderful combo system, and then made a sequel with oodles of lovely new gameplay styles and plenty of options and such, but at it's heart it's still the same game it always was. Ball bounces, move right...
In many ways, so is flappy bird.
Flappy bird is "that helicopter game", but with hard...

Welcome to the Top 13 AGameAWeek Games of 2013
No other Top-10 lists appear to want to give any of my games any recognition at all, which kinda sucks since I've made a whole bunch of REALLY great games, this year! I don't even get a token "Made a shitload of games, this year" mention!
Sucks!!
So, sod them all, I'll make my own Top-10 list.

Sheep Goes Right, or at least a minor version of it, is now (URL "https://www.ouya.tv/game/Sheep-Goes-Right/">available on OUYA.)
It isn't finished. There's a lot more of it that I've made, and a lot more I've yet to add, but something annoying has happened in the past few days.

My first experience

Me and Spinal were discussing OUYA. He'd just bought one, and was trying to get Monkey to work with it.
I dared to mention OUYA in a tweet, and so was instantly followed by OUYAForum's tweetbot, @OUYAForum_com
"Nnngh. A generic bloody tweetbot. Can't these companies behave properly?" I thought, and I otherwise ignored it and carried on.

<img src="https://socoder.net/AGAWGold_128.png" style="float:right;">AGameAWeek Gold is our occasional glance through the archive, to pluck out some of the great games that I've created over the many years that I've been doing this.
Along the way we'll discover some great gems that I'd forgotten about, or occasionally the odd bit of garbage that I'm frankly happy to have forgot about!
Today, we take a look at a strange little Pong game!

September is nearly over, and I've played a good six or seven hours of GTAV.
Hmm..
Anyhoo, I've been working away at BlastTrax and have done quite a fair amount of work on the thing.
I should be uploading the new edition to Apple in the next couple of days, (I have to faff about updating my MacMini first, though) so watch out for that appearing on your iPhing in the next week or so.
After that it's time to get back into the AGameAWeek swing of things, and I'm tempted to do another sl...

I'm not really sure why that didn't happen!
Instead, we have a nice swimming floating game, which is in no way inspired by the diving in Animal Crossing..
