DevelopmentsIt's about time I started to retweak all those PlayJam games. Although they're suitably working as they are, they all need a little rejigging for the newer system. It seems the new PlayJam device is having trouble with one of my reused menu sound effects.. The tiny "blip" sound effect is less than 1kb, at only 772 bytes. DevelopmentsSpent yesterday powering through a quick monster-maze game. Managed to build a basic dungeon layout builder, got monsters wandering around, and generally made a nice playable little game. DevelopmentsAfter basically deciding to mostly ignore the Multiplayer Controller code for the time being, I'm jumping back to the Advent Collection and trying my best to code what little I can, in what little time remains. Over the course of yesterday, I managed to get games 4 and 5 up and running, and also made a start on game 6. Progress is good, but is it good enough? Only time will tell. DevelopmentsI'm seriously struggling to remember what all I did, yesterday! I oughta keep a note of these things. I know I uploaded another game to OUYA and PlayJam, and I also know I spent a good hour or so tweaking NeonPlat Adventures 2.. .. But I can't, for the life of me, remember what it was that I actually did!! DevelopmentsI won't make you put up with the current horror show of the game's ingame music generator thing. I managed to get it "working" last night, but the difference between "working" and "not sounding like shit" are somewhat lengthy. DevelopmentsLast night, I started watching a series on Vimeo titled (URL "https://vimeo.com/channels/itvintheface">"ITV In the Face".) DevelopmentsMore complicated work playing with the level generator, yesterday. I still have LOADS to do, and progress has been somewhat slow, but I'm taking my time and trying to account for lots of different things at the same time. There are some elements that need to be missed out, this time around. Ladders and "drop down" things simply won't work on a touchscreen, unless I start making the onscreen dpad do up and down, which honestly, I'd rather not do. DevelopmentsJumped back and forth through a couple of things, yesterday, but mostly spent more time working on the level builder. Things are starting to look a little more varied, and thankfully the addition of vertical scrolling has added a little bit more. I'm currently worried about making sure the levels are completable, as I haven't yet added an AI player run-through of the level, to ensure it's at least playable. DevelopmentsComplications occasionally crop up as you're developing a game. The current complication is one of those "Everything NOW!!" issues. See, I'd like to get my character's movement to work, and ensure my screen scrolling works as it oughta. I've got left and right movement in, as that's pretty easy, but jumping requires that the ground collision is working properly.
