Flappadiddle-Brew

The epic Flappadiddle-Doo is now available on 3DS Homebrew.
95% of the game is intact, but the tiled backgrounds have vanished due to "I haven't added buffer-drawing to the 3DS Framework yet!" reasons. Otherwise, it's pretty much identical. 6 worlds, 6 birds, 6 endless modes, and a whole lot of flappiness! Views 40, Upvotes 3

Today's Plan

I might add a few extra functions for primitive drawing, or maybe a setting somewhere or something.
It's not too much of an issue, in that I know why it's drawing things at different scales, but it'd be a little easier if I didn't have to worry about whether something's going to be "The same scaled position as the larger desktop version" or "The exact location on the screen" Views 50, Upvotes 2

95% of Flappadiddle now works on the 3DS, but it still needs a bunch of tweaking to be done, in order to get it nicely 3DS worthy.

A sigh of relief

After extensive testing, it seems the Ogg playing is more or less functional.
I still need to tweak it for different Choons. Flappadiddle-Doo's struggling when it comes to switching levels. But other than that it's pretty much working as expected. Views 88, Upvotes 19

So, I scrapped the Sheep Herder engine, and started a new "time trial based" engine instead.
I got a classic Thrust style gravity ship, popped it at the start of the track on the top left of the screen. Fire for Thrust and then left and right. Views 28, Upvotes 2

Quite a busy day, yesterday. Not only did I get the game finished off and posted, I also then tackled a couple of website things that I'd not yet bothered to do.

Up to Itch.io we go
Blog
8th March 2018
Flappadiddle-Doo and On A Space Shooting Trail are now both up on itch.io and GameJolt.
The itch.io collection doesn't seem to be too popular, right now, but it'll be interesting to see if interest grows as the collection does. With GameJolt, there was a lot of excitement with my first couple of games, but then it all died down and went quiet. Hopefully itch.io turns out to be the opposite?! Views 32, Upvotes 4

I'm fairly happy that Flappadiddle-Doo is ready to go.
Over the next hour or so, I'll recompile, get all the assets redone, and get things uploading. Meanwhile, last night was spent watching the 3D Printer printing the second test SoCoder ball. Views 95, Upvotes 19

Been playing the Windows edition of Flappadiddle-Doo for most of the day..
.. Playtesting, honest!! Had to play through the "World" levels over and over, just to be sure they're doable. Tweaks yet to be done, include making the "Bonus Multiplier" a bit more obvious. I'm not sure how best to do that, but it'll probably just end up being a star-system or a red/amber/green light thing... You'll know what I did, once it's ready! Once that's done, I'm going ...
