Yesterday my new NAS turned up. I bought a Western Digital "My Cloud", and instantly disabled the My Cloud gubbins. An NAS is enough. I don't leave the house enough to warrant external access! So it all got setup, and then I did some quick file-access tests. One theme's challenge has been set, and only one more's to go. I've been struggling with these last two themes for a good few days, and suddenly yesterday an idea popped into my head, and the idea is so blindingly obvious that it looks 100% like I planned it like that! One month, Three games!? Sure, why not!! It might not be "AGameAWeek" but getting 3 games onto iOS in a month is still a pretty decent achievement, especially when they're all nice and big. After a game's release, half the fun is watching the aftermath, and scrawling the internet for comments. On this occasion, however, I pretty much know what's coming. Not a lot of progress, yesterday. A LOT of stuff happened, but nothing substantial enough that I can show it off! I started adding background layers to SpikeDislike3, but at the minute it's all nasty looking temporary art. I'm quite surprised, however, that it worked as well as it did in the Faux-3D mode. Mmm.. I spent a lot of yesterday faffing about with the "Start" screen of SpikeDislike3. At first I intended to have a giant spike be in the center of the screen, and in fact that's what happened for quite a while, but .. I'm not sure why, but I decided to switch to circles instead. Ok, so, I need a new archive. It's been a good number of years since I originally created the Jayenkai Archive, and although the software's lasted through a fair number of rethemes, and a fair number of enhancements over the years, it all still pretty much has the exact same issues that it did on day one.

You might've noticed odd outages and curious tweaks and changes over the course of the last week.. Last Wednesday I decided it was finally time to upgrade the server, and the switch went "mostly" smoothly. There were quirks along the way, and the Wordpress didn't enjoy the shift at all. Someone over at Softpedia has been closely following AGameAWeek for quite some time. It seems that each time I post a new game, within a relatively short period of time, it pops up on Softpedia's archive. Occasionally, I base games upon crazy bits of coding that seem fun to play with. Sometimes games can form from odd little artistic doodles that look strange and unusual.
