OK, folk are getting intrigued as to how all of this is working, and how nice the Monkey language is to work with, so in the spirit of not being a complete and total git, here's the complete everything that there is so far..
The DownloadFramework Downloads have been removed due to lack of updates! I've also left the html5 build intact, so you can give it a little run if you don't have Monkey installed. (I think!) Should be as simple as going into the .build folder, then the ht...Views 184, Upvotes 17

Cardagain was my first ever game on iOS, so it seems fitting that it also be my first on Android, too.
The basic idea is this...

Aaah, the joys of data compression!
OK, here's the complications with Monkey.
1. File Access is a little bit touch and go.
I've had a play with it, and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
I'm not entirely sure why this is, but.. Whatever! For the meantime, until Mark Sibly's had time to get everything perfected, I'll be staying out of it's way.
2. Can't read a raw .png
This is annoying! For the past few years, I've been getting used to using .png file...

I've been delaying a large list of things, but as I continue to make great strides with Monkey, those tough bits are getting ever so close.
Here's what needs doing, as well as explanations as to why they're tough..

2013 Framework
14th January 2013
I'm all out of little experimental ideas, so I figured I'd play it safe, and make a shitty little classic game!
Plus I've been FAR too busy with the Monkey framework, this week, to do anything bigger.
No matter, here's a nice little fun shooty thing.
You know how this one goes.
Left+Right, and Fire (Z/X/Up!)
Also, if you play it on your iPhing, you can control everything with touchyness!!

I've been asked to chip in on this whole Kickstarter issue. If you follow me on Twitter (@Jayenkai) you'll have noticed my dislike of people spamming my twitter feed with constant requests for cash. It's annoying when you get into the busy periods, have your own cash issues to worry about, but still get bombarded by tens of hundreds of requests a day for things that don't yet exist.
As a cash strapped indie dev, I'm in exactly the same situation as most of these guys, with the simple ...

We're getting back into the swing of things, now!
Here's a quickly remake of a game I did a long while ago as Nintendo DS homebrew. The basic idea was that you take a classic arcade game, and rework it so that it fits the logic and rules of a slot machine. Worked out nicely, and the DS edition ended up with 6 of these games to play, along with a nice "score to unlock" mechanic.
This is merely the Pacman edition.
If its popular, I might add some more, but if I'm honest, Id rather get a nic...

Don't pick the box with the Red in it, or its game over.
Otherwise, the more you pick, the more you score.
You can reset all the boxes, to keep your odds up, by tapping the safety button on the bottom right.

I think I'm heading back to bed, today!
Some days just don't seem to start off very well, and after a few hours of trying, don't appear to be getting any better!
Today I've managed to complete the following amazing achievements.
1. Get two dice to roll on the screen.
That is all...
I also tried getting Blockman Gets iOS to feel right, but... I dunno..
For some strange reason the controls seem WAY off, and I'll probably have to redo them from scratch. Maybe it's the constant switching of framew...

The games start, right here... in a couple of days!
Tuesday morning.
I'll have to add a small "Mac Warning" disclaimer, though, 'cos my Mac's still being twitchy since it's OSX Lion upgrade, and I never did get around to doing a quick test compile.
no matter..
Either it works, or there's whinges!

Before starting development on NeonPlat Adventures, I took great care to test all the alternatives.
I'd read online about OSX Lion breaking Blitz, and people needing to fuck about with lots of settings and things.
The scary part was that developing on Lion would probably break compatibility with Snow Leopard.
As such, I made a few test engines, and got people with Lion to test my games, to be 100% sure that, if I stuck with Snow Leopard, my games would be 100% compatible with BOTH sets of users.

Just finished the game, so I'm here to say *Thank you* for some real good entertainment.
A couple of things I noticed:
Loved the game concept, and the visual design is spot on for that kind of game. Unfortunately, sound doesn't work on Ubuntu 11.10.
It's a shame that the progress isn't properly recorded: The game should automatically offer me to play at the 'highest' levelset and the highest starting point I reached in my last session. Having to write ...

Not sure why.
I DID have a list.
I think it might've vanished during my iOS upgrade sessions.
Silly thing.
Today's task will be to add as many of those as is humanly possible, as well as finally sorting out the Level Builder once and for all..

First up, be aware that these aren't working yet, so the bit where one of the achievements would appear to be mostly impossible without the others, is actually down to the fact that they're 6 items apart, and nothing to do with anything that's been earned yet!!!

Saturday's my "At work for a while" day, so I usually get a lot less codey time done, but I still managed quite a few bits and pieces in the morning.
A couple of new baddies, and a teensy bit of AI are in there, as is something which may or may not be confusing, depending on whether you remember the 7 year old oddity or not.
Suffice to say, the bananas do definitely appear to be coming from below the arrow.

Looking entirely possible at this point!
And I've done 8 backgrounds, now, too, so we'll probably want another 2 of those.
