The Plan!
NeonPlat Classic is the original edition.
If I hurry up and quickly build a version of that on iOS, I can get it released in time for my Birthday, then have a 24 hour giveaway like I did with SpikeDislike last year.

Not sure why, but I'm finding it difficult to get a start on things, this morning.
Yesterday I managed to get a whole lot of stuff done, ranging from webby fixes, through to making a unicycle.
Today, I'm loading up bits of source, staring at it, closing it, trying something else..
I've been doing this for about 49 minutes, according to my playlist's timer!
I think I'll grab the 3DS and carry on attempting random Mario levels.
Hopefully that'll go a little better.

A lot of elements are currently coming together, and things are getting a little more chaotic than I'd like them to be around Xmas time.
If the past 2 years of Xmas themed chaos (12 games of Xmas, Advent Collection) have taught me one thing, it's not to EVER plan anything around Xmas!
Presents, family visits and the general filling of my face with Xmas cake, will usually get in the way of the coding time, and as such I decided not to push myself into anything moronic this year.

When I was building the beta versions of NeonPlat Adventures, it always included a little readme file.
The final release didn't have one, but I figured that was ok, because it was so simple it didn't really need one.
The original readme was only really there to explain that beta peeps shouldn't mention the Calendar, and then I kinda rambled on a bit!
Anyhoo, if you find yourself in desperate need of a readme file, this is it!

The Win/Lin/Mac (WiLMa) edition is also a bit screwy, so we'll add "New Calendar" to the 2nd releases todo list.
Might as well see if I can code 2 things at once, then, and rework the calendars at the same time.

I wasn't aiming to do the Final Beta until about Wed/Thursday this week.
Today, the Final Beta went out.
A few days early, but there was nothing more I could come up with.
The game is done.
There's been a few tweaks, today, to sort out a couple of beta-player's issues, and I've been fiddling with some of those slightly annoying things that I never got around to fixing.
.. but yeah, it's done.

This is the plan.
Week 1
This Friday I'm launching Beta2, so I have until Friday to add an alarming number of things.
I thought I was on track, but then realised I needed...
1. All the hats!
2. All the badges.
3. A couple of bits of music.
4. Scoring methods
This Beta will hopefully be, for the most part, the fully complete game.
Any extras after this point should be neatness-tweaks, and nothing major, but.. well.. things always get in the way!!

Every character, when caught in a bubble and collected, can be "worn" like a "hat".
(They don't look like hats, but that's what I started calling them, and that's what I'll continue to call them!)
Each hat will give the NeonPlat a special skill, allowing him to do all manner of wonderous things.
The run through so far includes ball throwing, ice throwing, flower throwing, drop through the floors, hop in the air, shield, and many more.
Today, I added "Multiplier x2" and "Multiplier x5"

Phase One was the simple test engine I release WAY WAY back in the very early stages of this humongous project.. .. last month!
Phase One was a basic engine, with simple platforming mechanics.
Taking the rules of NeonPlat and adding a scrolling background, I wanted to judge if it'd be enjoyed.
True, one piece of feedback was a little downbeat, but on the whole it's been well appreciated.
You can't please everyone, but the original's not broken, so hopefully that makes up for it.

Back to NeonPlat Adventures today, and I spent a good 6 hours doodling away in Paintshop Pro, trying to get some nice new graphics for the game sorted.
In all that time, I managed to draw (and integrate) 2 new World Themes, and 2 new Baddies.
6 hours for THAT?!
*sigh*
Still, the baddies are in, the worlds look fairly decent, and the game's still ticking away like it should.
.. more to come!
and no screenies, 'cos that'd be giving things away!

Had another Migraine day, today, and thus managed to accomplish bog all.
'tis a bit of a downpoint, considering how productive I've been over the past couple of weeks, but I pretty much ended up reading forums, messing about on Twitter, and.. .. Relaxing a bit.
Because, apparently that's important, even when you're kicking ass making a really great platformer. Go figure!
