Long long night..
Sat up writing the newsletter 'til late, then posted the short blog, then headed to bed about 1am..
After lying there playing Sheep Goes Left for an hour or two, I finally drifted off, only to wake up at 5am.

On Friday I had a really rather productive day, and managed to build up my iPhing knowledge quite a fair bit.
I didn't have enough time to do a 90-minute thing, though, and am quite disappointed by that.
Saturday came and went, with most of the kitchen getting it's new ceiling up, and no 90-minutes being spent, again!
Dangit.
Today I aim to play catchup, although how much of that gets done will remain to be seen.
First off, there's a few things over at Socoder that need tweaked, so I'm going to go ...

Moving from DS to iPod Touch has been a decent improvement, but.. boy, do I miss having buttons!!
There's also a fair few other little bits and pieces that aren't quite right.
WordJong, for starters, is only about 1/10th of the game it was on the DS, And, what's up with the audio, it's like something keeps messing with the sounds on the thing.
I dunno..
It's odd.
But there's one thing that I miss most of all. And that's ZooKeeper.
Sure, the iPod has Bejeweled, but it's just not the same.

Since mid-December, when I stupidly came up with the idea to make 12 games over the course of Xmas, I've been lagging behind.
So, So, SOOO far behind.
And I've been trying desperately to catch up with loads of stuff.
This week, I released my framework.
It's still not quite done, and the music engine definitely needs a whole boatload of work.
But it's getting there.
And with that nearly out of the way, I'm finding myself finally able to take a few minutes to do something other tha...

Prepare for disappointment!
This week's been a bit of a disaster, really.
I started with Arcade Slots, and actually managed to get quite far into it, but eventually realised there wasn't anything new to add to the mix. So that got scrapped.
After that came a brand new Blockman graphic style, which was far too angled, and resulted in the maze being completely obscured. No good!
So, after those two, you'd think I'd suddenly come up gold. Third time lucky, right?

A nice enough game, lovely lines all over, but somehow lacking in something extra.

"Create a Horizontal Shooter".. That was the compo rules for The Horizontal Shooter compo, over at SHMUP-Dev.. Or at least I think it was there.
I started this entry in January 2006. I know this because the game has a directory numbered 031..Since starting Wed.Workshop I've been numbering all my dev-dirs according to the number of that week's workshop!

I get bored. I get bored a lot. Especially when working on large projects. It's nice to occasionally have some weird random thing to do.
That's why I set up the Wednesday Workshop.
A weekly challenge. Make a game based upon a given theme, or task. Everyone who enters gets put through for a vote. But it's not really about the winning. It's about having something to do when you're bored. And .. I get bored a lot!
