The classic Basketball theme makes a return, this week. Bounce the ball, avoid the spikes, and shoot the hoops as you go. Be sure to drop the ball down through the hoop, or you'll lose some of your combo points. Eeek! You can Play "On the Court" at SpikeDislike.com, in your browser, on Desktop, Mobile or Tablet.

If you're a fan of Classic SpikeDislike, and miss those things that fly across the screen with the number of points you just earned, you'll be happy to know I've added them into SpikeDislike.com! I've not yet added a menu option to turn them off again, though, so you'll just have to put up with them for the next day or so, depending on when I get around to doing that.

Lots of internal tweaks to the engine, today. The game now records your highest combo, and places that alongside your highscore in the saves. This means that, when necessary, I can pop that up on the screen. Your last score on the scoreboard is now highlighted and bounces to and fro, to stand out on the list. I do miss having that in the Browsercade. .. Maybe I should try to figure out a way to do that, but Browsercade's save data is there for lots of different types of games, and having a Top 10...

Michael Fernie posted to the suggestion box.. Mr Do type game Another fun game we used to play all the time. Sort of like Dig Dug but I liked this better. Loved being able to throw the ball and have it bounce thru tunnels you made.

A decade is over, and what have I done? 373 games, created a new blogging script for here, rewritten the Socoder forum, started a few new sites and more! Oh, and a brain tumour! It's been a wild and crazy decade, and over the next few days I'll be looking back at the best (and worst) games from the decade. 2010 - BlitzMax 2011 - Touch Control 2012 - The Bad Year 2013 - Monkey-X 2014 - OUYA!! 2015 - The Gap Year 2016 - Forget-V 2017 - Cuddle Me 2018 - Ringing the Changes 2019 - Overl...

Jefferson asks.. Hey there! Could I have the source code for this? The name of this site should give you some idea as to how difficult Centipong is to create from scratch. But just in case, allow me to plot you some points to help guide you along the way.

RSKGames returns with his thoughts on recent games. You can Play Shoebox of Games here, which are all Mouse/Touch controlled games, which run 100% in the browser. Or you can Play Browsercade here, which are all Keyboard/Gamepad controlled games, for a more Arcade-like experience, but which also run in your browser.

Browsercade games

: The main menu or Homepage looks fantastic with each game having the name at the top in their own game themes.

Don't worry, it isn't the Twelve Days of Christmas, already!! The endless hopping mechanic returns. Bounce on the backs of the three hens as much as you can, without touching the ground. You only get three jumps from the ground, so repeated bouncing is the best way to get a high score. Tip : Hold A to bounce longer and higher. If you've a Switch, and have downloaded SmileBASIC, you can grab a copy of the game using the Public Key...

In order to get SpikeDislike Classic (or is it Classic SpikeDislike?) to work as universally as I can, there's been a lot of Delta Timing tweaks, alongside a bunch of 3DS Scaling-Issue related stuff that had to be done.

This will be SpikeDislike Classic, and as such will be a back-to-basics approach. Nobody seemed to like the wonderful new additions that I made to SD3, so they'll all be scrapped in favour of the good old "Ball bounces along the ground, dodging spikes, full stop" mechanic that everybody loves.

Overview: ''Pogo the Fridge'' is the Jumping platformer cousin of ''Squashly Boop''. This is a much harder game than the ''Squashly Boop''.

In order to make the Bouncer format work properly, I'm going to need to give the player a different kind of control scheme. I'm almost tempted to strip away the "constantly bouncing" form of the ball, and go for something more like Soccer Kid on the Amiga.

My mind wanders back to a game idea, long long long ago. Super Bouncer (2003!) never got off the ground because I knew I'd need really big levels, and I couldn't be bothered to make them! (This is a running theme) With my modern day proc-gen methods, I could probably get a decent random-path generator up and running to keep the game varied enough to be interesting. Couple it with better collision detection (really, anything would be better than the old test version!) and it has the potenti...
