So, after having attempted to create a racing game and a word game, I've finally settled on a game that appears to be coming together nicely.
Ninja Duck (temporary name, but they usually tend to stick) is about a Ninja who has a sword, and an oncoming swarm of ducks, frogs and birds.
Simple stuff, on a nice small arena.

Sometimes you can start a game and it grows and grows and is wonderful.
Other times, you get about 10% through, and realise it's just not working out.
Game Idea 1
This week started with a word game. A decent enough idea, place the tiles in a scrabble-esque crossword style, and make words.

Idea : invent a new gambling/casino game
A few years ago (2004!!) I created Kasino Green. It was supposed to sit alongside StringyThings (a nice collection of Word games), and be a similarly nice collection of Casino games.

I was struggling to come up with an interesting game, this week, when my Mum decided to show me her latest highscore on Yahtzee.

Nice and big, specifically in the title, so as not to get ANYONE excited!
I will be VERY surprised if anyone gives a rats ass about this week's .. um.. "game".. but here it is anyway.

I can't believe I've still not finished this yet!
Seems that, no matter how much work I do on this game, it's still not quite done.
This week, I finally decided on the complete "Not Chance" and "Not Community Chest" card selection. 12 of each, ready and waiting in the engine.
Next, I added all those lovely patents.

This week's Wednesday Workshop (#209) asked us to create a game with some kind of Gravity.

Yesterday turned out rather well.
I actually coded a complete game, from start to finish, logo, audio, everything, yesterday.
It's pretty good, and will be our AGameAWeek come Tuesday. (Because, if I posted it today, there'd be nothing to post on Tuesday!!)

This week, I've been getting to grips with MidletPascal, and dodging it's annoying mid-compile crashes, in a vague attempt to get some games onto my phone.

If other folk enjoy it, then so be it, but I made this for myself because I was getting really ticked off by the lack of decent crossword games* on the DS.
There's 3479 crosswords in the game.

My mum likes crosswords!!!
And, heck. I like crosswords, too!
Except, the trouble is, there's not really a decent crossword game on the DS.
Don't get me wrong, there's a fair few games, and The Times (released this week) in particular, has a cracking selection of clues/answers, and some really nice layouts.

I'm ashamed of myself!

True... Making Alien Deathmatch 2 is a challenge all of it's own, but I was wanting my own special little site with it's own special little gimmick, and it'll all look a little bit worse for wear if I leave a second week without a new game...

#1 - JNKPlat

JNKPlat, the DS edition was a souped up version of the classic JNKPlat games. It features "Amazing" animated graphics!
