ugh..
I need to make a calendar for the iOS edition.
The Win/Lin/Mac (WiLMa) edition is also a bit screwy, so we'll add "New Calendar" to the 2nd releases todo list.
Might as well see if I can code 2 things at once, then, and rework the calendars at the same time.

The following blog post contains words, which are built up using various letters.
You are expected to read the words in the correct order, moving your eyes from left to right to read each line, and then moving on to the left hand side of the next line.
Continue in this method until you have read all of the words of this blog post, and are happy with your und...

Last night I sat down to jot a few readme notes for the Beta Testers.
By the time I was done, I'd inexplicably written 1500 words of gubbins!
Whoops!

I had planned a post, earlier.
I was thinking the text through whilst walking to work..
I'm now home from work, and have sat down to write it.
.. I need to learn to jot things down, because I can't remember what it was..

(Apologies, it's a bit "half-asleep/randomly ranty/jumping through topics/freeflow" today!!)
As an iDev guy, I get 50 codes per Update for all my games. I can hand these out to reviewers or folk I know.
Handy.
So, off they go, sent out, willy nilly, to all the reviewers/people I can find, and see where it takes me.

Today I coded a nice Tower Defence game, and then started to implement Template 2, for the next bunch of AGameADay games.

PlayMyCode no longer works

Template 2 honestly isn't that much different than Template 1 was.
In fact, if I wasn't writing this blog, I'm not 100% sure that anyone would notice that much.
There's been a number of background changes, though, ...

A game? Again?
Yup! Made a (URL "https://www.playmycode.com/play/game/jayenkai/not-the-same">nice little mazey thing), where you have to trek around a random maze. The maze isn't hard, but it's one of those nice "harder if you don't do it right!" style of things that I have a knack of making.
Not sure why I keep doing those!
I just seem to like their insane difficulty!
Perhaps, in reality, my games are actually really really piss easy, and it's just me that keeps playing them wron...

Today I'm focussing my blog on iOS trials and tribulations. The basic steps of designing a game when working with iOS.
These are pretty simple things, and should be apparent, but .. having played a fair number of iOS games.. they're not always done!
Note, this isn't really about my actual development, as such, more the train of thought that generates the end result.
In a future bloggy thing, I might focus more on the what/where, than the how/why that this does. Let me know if ...

AGameAWeek teaches us one thing.
Some games you win, some games you lose.
When you lose, there's not a lot you can do.
Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move on.

A random game idea on Sunday, with a totally random name, and then a shock co-incidence when Monday turned out to be Roger Hargreaves' birthday, and the Mr Men ended up being plastered all over Google!
I couldn't have planned that.. I'm far too lazy to have planned that!

I enjoyed my Month Off!
I've written a lovely quickstart framework, I've built a game and a half, I've posted more Tube vids and Tweets in a month than any month previously, I've tried to keep up the blog, AND I even had time to relax!!
A few games of GTA and Burnout meant my X360 was switched on for the first time in over a year!
I've been playing YouDon'tKnowJack on the iPod (Highly recommended, even if it is Americanised questions), and listening to months worth ...

I'm thinking, I'm switching, I'm testing and tweaking, and nothing so far seems good.
D'oh!!
Barry Bee looks ok, but plays like a bag of crap.
I'll leave it where it is, though. At some point in time, I might manage to make a playable game out of it.

It's not that I hated the old logo.
In fact, in many ways, the old logo fit my whole game making thing a little better than this one does.
So, maybe, at some point, I'll switch back.
The thing is, though, if you slap the old Recterange logo onto a Tshirt, it looks like a freakin' name badge!

54 games. Last year I only managed about 30-odd, so I think that's pretty good going.
Sure, it might not have truely actually been A Game "Per" Week, but I did at least keep the ratio up.
If I hadn't taken the time out to build the framework, I probably would've actually achieved the target a little better
The stats show I was pretty much on top of things up until that point, but then things got slower and slower until my buffer zone was all dried up.
Anyhoo, this is a n...

Fred is a happy Flea, and he loves to hop.
He especially loves it when all the Dandelions are casting their seeds around in the air, as he can grab on, and go for a ride.

Kept the random title.. It'll do!
Not sure if it works better as "Kee, Bo and Ard", or just "Kee Bo Ard", but either way, here we have it!
Kee, Bo and Ard must all be guided through the maze. They have to collect all the pickups, and once they're all done, you can progress to the next level.

It's still not fantastic, but given that the game only just started to fall into place yesterday, it's not turned out so bad.

I've popped in the regular "Platdude Jingle", figured it'd do for the meantime, and..
