I got most of Gamma X working, yesterday.
It still needs AI, but otherwise it's working nicely.

I've been falling behind on my Fanatically AL Bum, so this is the second track of the week!
Both Fanatically and Memories Of are at O, now, which is good!!

Got working on the Cube game, yesterday morning.
A bright and early start.
Things were going exceptionally well, with the maths for the floor tiles looking fairly workable.

NPA2 is now NPCA, as it finally finds a proper title, "NeonPlat's Cosmic Adventure".
I spent about 5 or 6 hours trying out various programs desperate to find a nice way to get a properly designed logo that would curve around the edge of the planet.
In the end, I did what I usually did, and opted to just do the bloomin' thing myself.

Complications occasionally crop up as you're developing a game.
The current complication is one of those "Everything NOW!!" issues.
See, I'd like to get my character's movement to work, and ensure my screen scrolling works as it oughta.

Since the HTML edition of NeonPlat Adventures 2 will use a slightly different method to recolour the tilemap, it means I need to try and make the two different methods as close to each other as I can.
Yesterday I started to tackle this issue.
It's not 100% perfect, but I'm sure with a little number crunching, I'll manage to get the two editions looking "mostly" the same!

Yesterday's first task was, of course, to add the Basketball Hoop back into SpikeDislike3.
The mechanic works the same.. Be "roughly" within the right area, and go down through the hoop to score. If you go up through the hoop, you lose your combo.
It sure is evil, this Basketball game!

One of the new themes sees me playing a bit more with Monkey's Skewing. The Transform and Matrix commands let you do some weird things with sprites. I never bothered to use them in the past because it's generally hard to pull off a good effect with them, that doesn't just look like you're pissing about with fancy effects! But during SpikeDislike3 I decided to experiment with it a little.
You can see it used best in the Pseudo-3D theme. No 3D is used, and only simple ske...

Yesterday, I completely rejigged the "Bounce" of SpikeDislike.
Originally, the bounce was a simple Sine-wave, and has in fact been this in EVERY version of SpikeDislike, but this time I'm hoping to add a couple of new elements which have required a minor tweak in the usual ball bouncing mechanic.
This isn't something to be taken lightly, as I had to be absolutely sure that the end result still "felt" like Classic SpikeDislike.
At the moment it's a teensy bit fl...

Hello, I'm Jayenkai, and in 5 days time, I'll be adding the 300th game into my Archive.
300 games that I've single handedly created over the course of the past decade.
Today, I received the following email.

Today I've made a start on the next JNKPlat.
Everything will be sprite based, but MASSIVE compared to previous outings.
Where previously they'd been 8x8 pixel tiles, this time around they're going to be 64x64 pixels.
That's a 6400% size increase! (Assuming I did the maths right!)

Let's throw out the spam, and get started.

What a year, eh!
I decided to round off the year with a nice big, old fashioned list, with everything in it.
Except this doesn't have everything in it, because I've forgotten to add the DS games.. I'll do that later!! (Took me about 3 hours to do this, so I'm not going to tweak it, now!!)

Today's work has been mostly of the external variety.
First off, compressing a level..
I'm taking 160x160 pixels, each one being around about 16 different colors (give or take, depending on what walls/floors/etc I bother to add.) and trying to bundle them up into a teensy tiny bit of data.
To me, compression's a fun time, where you get to play with lots of fiddly numbers, and chaotic maths, just to get large things down to size.
