Yesterday's game wasn't all that great.
I think I need a better plan for this week.
What say you!?

As much as I love making gambling games (after all, my IRL name is actually James Gamble) I've tried to steer away from them for the past decade or so.

It's all well and good ploughing ahead with a Shoebox game for the week, but I can't leave out Petit Switch!
So, what will the Petit game be?!

James "Jayenkai" Gamble is a coder who likes to code!
Having attempted and failed at both GCSE and ALevel computing, mostly due to becoming overwhelmingly bored at their idea of computing (Punched cards, Binary and How to Use a Wordprocessor!), I inevitably gave up on the idea of "computing" as a career.
Coding is my hobby.
I enjoy the freeform nature of my hobby, and will continue with it until I become bored with it!
I create because I enjoy creating, and if anyone happens...

Not a whole lot happened yesterday. I mean, it did, but nothing that noticeable.
I found a couple of counting errors that were being thrown up by the new Basketball theme, and had to figure out exactly what was/wasn't going on with that. (The hoops replaced spikes, and all manner of crazy scoring events were taking place!!)
Took a fair amount of time to fathom exactly what was happening, but I think I've managed to get it to a respectable method of counting! Even...

OUYA Blog Blog
12th February 2014
Over on the OUYA website, they occasionally allow developers to write blog posts, and for some reason have decided that I'd make a good blog writer.
Quite why this is, is beyond me, as we all know I tend to rant and waffle, and basically type any old crap into my own blog posts. But what the heck! I figured I'd join in anyway!
(URL "https://www.ouya.tv/ouya-devlog-james-gamble-a-game-a-week/">My BlogPost!)
It should be noted that I actually wrote this thing WAY back i...

Welcome to the Top 13 AGameAWeek Games of 2013
No other Top-10 lists appear to want to give any of my games any recognition at all, which kinda sucks since I've made a whole bunch of REALLY great games, this year! I don't even get a token "Made a shitload of games, this year" mention!
Sucks!!
So, sod them all, I'll make my own Top-10 list.

General rule in life : Don't Poke the Bear.
Other similar expressions include tidbits such as "That's just the way it is", and references to Burning Bridges..
Over the past few days, I've heard pretty much every single one of these, and a whole host more.
About a week ago, IGN posted a trailer for SpikeDislike2.

Evil pirates are everywhere.
You know what really irks me, though?
The way the pirates slap their name onto your game.
They don't dig into the innards and fiddle with things that would intrude on the player's experience, but they do slap their name on the download filename.

When I was building the beta versions of NeonPlat Adventures, it always included a little readme file.
The final release didn't have one, but I figured that was ok, because it was so simple it didn't really need one.
The original readme was only really there to explain that beta peeps shouldn't mention the Calendar, and then I kinda rambled on a bit!
Anyhoo, if you find yourself in desperate need of a readme file, this is it!

Yesterday, Rob from RetroRemakes asked if he could do a spritesheet for Spike Dislike.
After a lot of back and forth, I decided to write a how-to, so any future requests could go a little bit smoother!
Here's some info on how to make 'em, alongside a bunch of all-important rules.

Because there may or may not have been resulting copyright issues, I've left this post on the backburner until the magazine went off the shop shelves. Usually I'd happily scan in a bit of a page if my games are mentioned, but this time it's a whole entire page, and that's a completely different kettle of fish. (Although, to be fair, I'...
