19th December 2020
Over the course of 2020, I've created a LOT of games. (113!?)
In this post, I pick my personal favourites that I've made this year, for each of the four places that I've been juggling making games for. If you have your own favourites, let me know in the comments, or bombard me with tweets telling me how wrong I am! Views 174, Upvotes 10

Shoebox - Card Board
Blog
29th March 2020
(As in.. A board made of cards!)
Move around the Card Board and score points as you go. Points are awarded when you land on an unturned card, based on the card's value (Ace = 1, Jack = 11, Queen = 12, King = 13) If you land on a Diamond, you'll earn twice as much. A Heart will give you another go. Landing on a Spade will cause you to Lose the points, whilst landing on a Club will award the points to all the other players. The winner is the player with the most points, once... Views 71, Upvotes 11

Right, I've had this idea bubbling about for a week or so.
It's almost fermented, but I think I should be able to figure out what's going to happen along the way. Views 31, Upvotes 6

Did you ever see Reiner Knizia's _Decathlon_ dice game? Go check it out on boardgamegeek. Not that you'd want to copy it wholesale, but you could get some inspiration for different ways to total dice. PDF of the rules, and a scoresheet. Views 267, Upvotes 12

A blank slate, this morning, as I try to come up with a Shoebox game to do.
I did consider getting back to finishing off The Quest, but every time I look at the code, the whole thing seems to be larger in scope than I ever imagined it might be. Views 256, Upvotes 13

A decade is over, and what have I done?
373 games, created a new blogging script for here, rewritten the Socoder forum, started a few new sites and more! Oh, and a brain tumour! It's been a wild and crazy decade, and over the next few days I'll be looking back at the best (and worst) games from the decade. Views 126, Upvotes 6

Right, I was halfway through the "Extra" card, wasn't I..
Maybe some kind of quick board game that makes use of those? I had considered doing a Snakes and Ladders style game but with cards for movement, so .. Yeah, I think I might attempt something like that, today. Views 36, Upvotes 7

@RSKGamesI was very lucky that in my first game I did not get into any snake tiles and got the help of one ladder tile to reach near the end zone much before the AI.Yup, this is a game 100% down to luck. I'd like to perhaps remove the sheer-luck, by making the moves maybe Card based, or something? Not quite sure how well that would work, and it honestly wouldn't be "Snakes and Ladders" anymore. So.. Perhaps another type of board game in the future? Views 48, Upvotes 14
