All 3DS games have been recompiled, today, so they all now feature the most recent version of the framework, and are bundled into cia/3dsx packages.

Roland Eats a Stale Biscuit now has working music, On a Space Shooting Trail lets you fly further into deep space, and a couple of other minor fixes have been made along the way.

Enjoy, hacky folk!

Trying to do too much at once.
I need to rest a little.
But if I stop the task I'm at,
There's hundreds more to battle.

Patreon.com/Jayenkai

You've probably not noticed, but the "Donate" button that was on the far right of the main menu has changed back into a "Patreon" button.
Last year, after the whole "Charging Patreons extra" business, I mostly abandoned the thing, removed all the links, and said "Sorry guys, no point in this" to the 3 Patreon subscribers.

They've stuck with me, though, and so I figured it was probably about time I started to give back a little something extra.

Today I've posted "Inside Jay's Notebook - 12".

The "Inside Jay's Notebook" series delves into my old notebook, page by page (and occasionally a few pages at a time) to see what mysteries of old I might find.

This week's page is all about "Green Xmas" from 2002, so if you'd like to see what other abandoned minigame ideas I had planned, you can see it right here! But you'll have to subscribe first!! OMG!WTF!?!

Can I get an entire game up and running in just a short couple of days?

A busy day of code ahead,
This game is vaguely started.
I'll try to make it look quite good,
And not like it's halfhearted.

I'm still jumping between two projects, but neither one feels good and gamey.
I think I'm going to scrap this week, and just restart something entirely different, instead.
Bah, humbug.

I can't seem to get anywhere on this weeks game, as my mind is leaping between two different ideas.

An idea started,
But not yet complete.
I doubt that I'll finish it,
Just in one week.

This morning's a newsletter day, so that all needs doing first, but then I'll be heading into the game and trying to figure out exactly what style it's going to take.

I'm fairly sure I can get some kind of gameplay working for this week's game, but it'll be a case of finding the right balance between what the level generator can come up with, and the way the player controls.

Another choon finished,
And more yet to come.
I like making music,
It's usually fun.

I'm not 100% sure what's happening with these sprites, but an idea is forming in my head.

Currently it feels like I'm going to have to properly design some levels for this one, so if it takes a little longer, that'll be why.
Tonight, I'll be attempting to figure out a nice way to randomise some levels, but if I can't figure something out, then it'll be properly done as-of tomorrow.

In addition, I'm fairly sure I shouldn't call it "Lucy's Love Box", so expect that title to change!

I haven't got much planned for this week's game, yet.
I was first waiting to see if a Buffer Drawn Tilemap might be workable, but it seems that it's going to be a missing feature on 3DS.

Sun shines all around,
But I'm not in the mood.
I'll be coding, indoors,
If that isn't too rude.
