Yesterday's attempt at making a moving-blocks sort of game didn't really end up with any great results. Today, then, I'll probably do something spacey. I'm thinking Space Popcorn might need a revisit, with a bit of the collection-gameplay from Popcorn Bucket. Some kind of mashup between the two. Coding Time!!

OK, time for another game, then! Gotta keep coding!! I still have the urge to do something with matching blocks, but more Platformer'y. I'm not sure what game my head wants to do with that concept, but trying to make it work with a random generator will probably be the hardest part. I've never quite managed to do block-puzzles with a generator, which is ironic given the multitude of puzzle generators I've been making for Foldapuz. Hmm.. I wonder if I'll manage that, this week?

OK, the swinging Spike thing has become a guy with a grappling hook, and it's quite fun to swing about the arena, but currently there's little or no purpose for doing so. That'll be today's task. .. since the game's due for release, today! Baddies, pickups, the usual suspects. Let's see where this one goes. I enjoyed my day off, yesterday. Got a few none-gamedev things worked out, and even started playing with paper again. Wondering whether to bring back my old Paper Arcade crafts, expand the DVD Case images to fit properly and include a back, and maybe even some oldskool cardboard boxes and cassette inlays. .. Yep, even when not coding, my mind is fizzling away, trying to keep itself busy and not worry about all the doom and gloom outside.

Might take a day off, today. I finished off this week's Foldapuz game late last night, bringing the total number of games done this year up to a nice round 50.

I've been asked how I achieve my scrolling backgrounds, especially since (as you can probably tell from my games) I'm not using "normal" techniques. Last night I sat and wrote a vague tutorial'ish thing for SmileBASIC. I took the idea of what I did with the Banana Dodging thing, and tried to make an entire game of Pong/Tennis within the space of a single screenshot-able screen of text.

Today will be about finishing off a couple of things. 1. Tomorrow's Petit Switch game. Thought of a puzzle game idea, last night, spawned by this week's SoCoder Word of the Week. Pillbox.. Seems obvious, just from the name! I'll be making that, today.

An image popped into my head, the other night, and so I spent most of yesterday getting that into the Browsercade engine. Today, I need to figure out how to turn that into a game. I'd better get doing that, then, because I'll be posting the finished game in the morning!!

Little progress on the site retheming. I'm not only trying to come up with a better layout for the main page, but also wondering about the Jukebox page, too, and ways I can make that flow a little better. In either case, I didn't get very far at all.. A bad day's coding!
