It's gotten a teensy bit cooler, tonight, and I've been able to get some coding done! The "ingame GUI" for Space Battle isn't looking awful... And that's as good as you're going to get I might fix up that explosion graphic to make it a bit more "Stand out'y", but otherwise things are definitely a bit more playable. *phew* Heatwave in the UK. The poor cat's lying on the threshold of the back door, trying to stay in the shade of the house, whilst hoping for a bit of a breeze from outside. I'm sat with a fan blasting in my face, and all in all, not much is getting done in the coding department! I did attempt to do a bit of music, but the sound of the fan drowned everything out! Nothing good is happening, gamedev wise, today..

I played about an hour of Mario Maker 2, yesterday, and got far enough to reach that annoyingly frustrating control issue that's been irritating me for decades.

I've done an alarming amount of work on this GUI today, and .. *shrugs* Doesn't look any bloomin' different to how it did, this morning!!

I tried to get this week's Shoebox game done, yesterday, but with so much GUI based stuff to do.. .. My head went "No, I'm sick to death of doing GUIs, this week!!" and decided to shut down. I'm going to push ahead and try again, today. If not, we'll have to abandon the Shoebox release for this week, because I'm not really sure that any game I make, will fit my head's current need to do something other than yet another GUI driven thing!

Busy day yesterday, and after I got back I needed a big long 4 hour nap to recover!! Once awake, I got a couple of little bits finished off, including this week's Petit Switch game (coming later tonight) and this week's SoCoder Newsletter (coming in about an hour or so).

At 3pm I have to be at the town hall, where I'm having a discussion with a council worker about my upcoming disability tribunal. Oh the fun!! As such, any and all coding will probably be abandoned for much of the day, as my mind whizzes around trying to decide what I'm going to say, and all that kind of gubbins. Not a fan of this kind of thing, if I'm honest. Hopefully I'll get back on track, later tonight.

I needed some quick and simple spaceships, so decided to try making them with that old JNK Sprite Generator that I appear to have neglected for a number of months! They might not look very good, but scaled just right, and on the right sort of background, they're passable! .. A bit.. You can generate your own squiggles here.

Have spent today working on more menu gubbins, and default "Quit", "Retry" buttons and things. The basic pause screen is looking terribly familiar!

The OUYA's now officially offline. This morning, they shut down the servers, took the site offline, and now everything is gone.

A simple little word puzzle, today. Add letters from the top to bottom, or remove letters from the bottom to top, to make words which fill up the pyramid. You can either choose to jumble the letters in each word or not, but the original solution is designed without any jumbles.
