A simple little word puzzle, today. Add letters from the top to bottom, or remove letters from the bottom to top, to make words which fill up the pyramid. You can either choose to jumble the letters in each word or not, but the original solution is designed without any jumbles. I'm still marginally hopeful that I can make something fun from the car thing. Right now it's still extremely bland and dull, but I think with a few tweaks, I can manage to get something gamey out of it. I think!

It's nothing too tricky, and you won't struggle to play it. The simple classic game of Hangman. Tap the letters, fill in the blanks, and try to guess the words or phrase. You can Play Hangman in the Shoebox where you'll find it in amongst the Word Games.

A simple, but effective little Anagram game. Four 7 letter words are laid out, along with 4 extra tiles at the bottom. Add one letter to each of the "racks", shuffle the letters, and try to make four 8 letter words. A simple crossword clone, with a slightly different scoring mechanism. You can Play Crossword Golf in the Shoebox, next to the standard Crosswords game, in the Word games!

Not really a game, but if I'm going to make this collection, you just know that this has to go in. You can Find Score My Words in the Shoebox, in the Extras section.

A couple of tweaks to the engine before I move on into other Crossword based things. 1. I've finally got the "Score value bubble" looking a little more like a bubble, and showing up at the end of words instead of seemingly at random! 2. Tap to Play "should" now work, but is still a small threshold of "tap". I might have to add the threshold into the option screen.. .. If I ever bother to make an option screen!!

Played ''Shuffled Tracks'' and was quite surprised to find such a polished game done in 2 days. You'd be surprised.. ... The game was almost ready to go, yesterday!! Most of today's coding session was spent fixing up the generator to make the levels more difficult.

Yesterday, I opened up the Crossword Code to start work on the other reuses of the game, and sat staring at the screen for around about half an hour.

I've a couple of planned games to do that shouldn't take too long at all.

1. Place letters by click-to-pick-up-click-to-drop. I haven't got around to this bit, just yet. I need a rethink of how the mouse-tapping works.. It "should" be do-able, but it might be a little over sensitive.. (see #3)

Fun. I beat AL 356-147 Yeah, AL's not hard to beat, right now! I need to get him to plan out Premium Tiles a little better, to bulk up his scores a bit.

Little bugs all over, but definitely a productive day.

What's the general outline of your current approach? The general method is as such. 1. The AI randomly picks a spot on the board, and scans to check that a word will fit in the space provided. It looks for a space that will fit about 3 or 4 letters and will connect to at least one other tile on the board.

The AI is selecting some nice placements, as well as some fairly decent words, but there are still "quirks" in the methodology.

Massive enhancements, tonight, as the Crossword Game's brain gets a little shove in the right direction.

I might need to rejig the way the WordList is held, to make AL's job a little bit easier.

Crikey, this ain't easy! But AL's slowly getting "better", in a "Not exactly more intelligent, but at least not murdering my fan!" sort of way. I need to get him to play with his letters a little better, though. He currently plonks tiny little 2-letter words down, when his rack has a really obvious word in it. .. But.. Yeah, getting there!!
