I've got a whole month to do a framework, so apparently that means I'm going to be a lazy git who does sod all, then crams the whole framework into the last day! .. Well, hopefully not, but I did manage to cram in a couple of hours of Burnout, yesterday! Been a long while since I sat and played a game for that long.

Not entirely sure how doable it'd be. .. hmm.. another time perhaps.. Anyhoo, Monkey. So far so good. A .. "nice".. looking frontend, with a quick top-10 list, and a swooshy menu. It'll get fixed up as time goes by, but for now I'm going to push on and try to build a quick test game. Since Monkey can cope with Web/Desktop/Mobile ...

In windows, to add a tab to the left of 3 or 4 lines, I've settled into the habit of doing either one of two things.. 1. Up, Home, Tab, Up, Home, Tab, Up, Home, Tab, Up, Home, Tab. Which goes up per line, heads to the far left, then places a tab. or 2. Select all lines, hit Tab. Which adds a tab to all the lines. On a Mac, my fingers are exercised a little more thoroughly...

54 games. Last year I only managed about 30-odd, so I think that's pretty good going. Sure, it might not have truely actually been A Game "Per" Week, but I did at least keep the ratio up. If I hadn't taken the time out to build the framework, I probably would've actually achieved the target a little better The stats show I was pretty much on top of things up until that point, but then things got slower and slower until my buffer zone was all dried up. Anyhoo, this is a nice big lengthy re...

So far, we've had the following.. ... Day 1. (Last Wednesday) Do What?! Wha.!.! Euww.. Visual stuff.. Eeek! Argh!! Day 2. (Thursday) Pissed about with other stuff on my Mac, in a vain attempt to ignore the fact that I had to learn stuff. Days 3-7. (Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon-Tue) Back to AGameAWeek, recompiling all the Blitz stuff, uploading those, fixing up JNKPlat and Gravity Bombs. --- It seems that, no matter how much I want to, I don't actually have all that much iPhing time. Uhoh, the ratio's dropping! No matter, this week's been SUPER busy, what with it being the week I finally got a Mac. As seen the other day, I re-released <a href="https://AGameAWeek.com/2010/05/8-brand-new-freeware-mac-games/">8 of my games for Mac</a>. It's not just Steam on Mac!!! You can play UFO246, too! Gettin' a wee bit messy, this week, isn't it.. hmm.. Lots going on, and commenting all over the place. Might need to do something about that.. Anyhoo... WarioWare DIY Thanks for the Wario-adds so far, and I'm glad to see there's some interesting games coming out of it. ExciteMike's getting some nice little games going, and I've been playing around with Shadow's little boss thing. Not really sure what was going on with that Platdude tune, though, Jiro!! AGameAWeek! Seems like a long long time since I last did this. In reality, it's only been a month, but BOY did that feel like an eternity! Let's have a look at this week's game.. <a href="https://AGameAWeek.com/complete/Gravity_Bombs_20100504A.png"><img src="https://AGameAWeek.com/complete/Gravity_Bombs_20100504A_thumb.png"></a> It's all about shooting the coloured pods. WarioWare DIY arrived via lady-postman at about 12pm today. I finally finished tap-tap-tap-tap-tap skipping my way through the tutorials about half an hour ago. My god, talk about mind-numbing pap! Every little bit of "How to make games" all drawn out in a way that only Nintendo could manage! To give them credit, it's actually a fairly competent tutorial, and I can see it being really helpful to most.. The "And/Or" tutorial, in particular, was quite comprehensive even in it's fairly short manner. ...

When I first started to think of "A game that uses Badges" the name "Dungeon Badges" stuck in my head, and slowly but surely evolved into Dungeon Badgers. Over the course of the week (during which I was finishing off Centipong 2) the idea had evolved to include a garden, a house, a cat, and of course.. mushrooms and... arrghh! A snake! Today's post is a brief description of the game that was in my head, before it got thrown out and replaced with an idea that could be drawn a wee bit quicker!

The titlescreen of future games requires many things. 1. Title of Game 2. Credits 3. Highscores 4. Instructions 5. Menu Individually they can all be nice and small, but put together, they tend to make things super-crazy! Especially when they're all equally fighting to attention. Welcome to Framework Titlescreen Version 0.3 <a href="https://socoder.net/uploads/1/Centipong_2_Gentler_Calmer_Crazier_(Screenshot_04_Feb_2010_120609).png"><img src="https://socoder.net/uploads/1/Centipon...

AGameAWeek 2010 - Game Number One! We'll call this a test game, because the whole framework thing still isn't quite up to scratch, with all kinds of missing features! Plus I've put in LOADS of little quirks, things that should be quick have been made extra lengthy, and there's a bunch of redundancy.. This is half-done on purpose so that I can see what the available systems can and can't cope with. Hopefully we'll find that they can!! <a href="https://AGameAWeek.com/compl...

Nice and big, specifically in the title, so as not to get ANYONE excited! I will be VERY surprised if anyone gives a rats ass about this week's .. um.. "game".. but here it is anyway. At the start of this week, I completed a nice quick game of Atoms for my phone, so here's that.. It's a classic Amiga PD game from many many years ago. Tap to place an atom, place too many to explode them, capture all the tiles you can. Simple gameplay, but lots of fun! You can Download Atoms here For the rest of this week, I've been working on a mock board-game. Confined to the rules of board, it's been fun creating a game that could conceivably exist in the real world. Unf...

TensionSheet This week, there's 3 more Free Games for LG Cookie to be played with. #4. Ball Push #5. Tic Tac Toe #6. Matrix Blaster They're basically.. #4 : Ball Push Get the ball into the hole. Tap close = fast, tap further = slower. #5 : Tic Tac Toe ...

Sorry!! With all the time spent playing around with Java and MidletPascal, this week, along with the time spent on H~S~R, we seem to have hit a bit of a low point. Still, no matter, here's a "fun" game! Dusty. Take lots of dust, push it around by clicking on the screen, and try to get all the dust into the red area. You'll have to guess where the red area is, 'cos it ain't labelled! Wherever the dust becomes red, that's where it's at. There's a timer. And, to be...
