Another big gap, as I try to figure out what's happening next. I figured you guys oughta be kept up to date with current goings on, in the world of AGameAWeek, so here's a rough bit of blogging so that you can vaguely assume you know what's going on! Current projects are.. 1. Kee Bo Ard Go Deep Another sequel in the Kee Bo Ard collection. I've so far built a fairly capable engine, but am struggling to decide exactly what I'd like to do with it. I've got the game up to a "You can complete a level" po...

As such, it's time to rearrange things in my bedroom.

As much as I count myself as "a bit of a Trekkie", I've never considered myself a full-on Trekkie. Sure, I enjoy watching it, and I do manage to follow 95% of the twisting turning sprawling plotlines, and enjoy the mythology of the show. I even recently subscribed to the Star Trek Starships model collection, which, every single fortnight, brings a lovely little starship to my door. (Well, ok, technically they get delivered in pairs, monthly!! I'm really enjoying these little ships, and my shelf is alrea...

Yet another case of AGameAWeek Gold being strangely interconnected with other events in my life!! Today, I posted about Star Trek Pong 3 earlier today, and it got me thinking about the even older Amiga edition. Curiously, I also recently purchased a USB Capture device for my PC. I wanted to output all my consoles and computers through my PC's monitor. It has a HDMI port, but a Scart->HDMI device seemed a little pricey. Being the cheapskate that I am, I instead settled for a Capture device, which bas...

AGameAWeek Gold is our occasional glance through the archive, to pluck out some of the great games that I've created over the many years that I've been doing this. Along the way we'll discover some great gems that I'd forgotten about, or occasionally the odd bit of garbage that I'm frankly happy to have forgot about! Today, we take a look at a strange little Pong game!

One man, 365 games Luckily, he decided against that, and has now shifted gears to a much more manageable 52 games a year, or AGameAWeek if you will. As I always say, I'll wish you all the best on your quest. It's a toughy. You have a life, and unlike me, you probably also have one of those "Social Life" thingies! These tend to get in the way. As does enjoying yourself.

This week, I started a game on a grid. It started well enough, with a lovely grid-doodling method making nice colourful griddy squares, and a simple circle on the top for the player. Then I got to the point where I had to do character movement, and my head just kinda went "Ugh.. I just can't be arsed!!" I'm out of ideas. I ran out about midway through Advent, and I think finishing that off has sapped every last ounce of ideaness out of my poor little head. So, in order to continue to do AGameAWeek, I'm going to have to start doing things in a slightly different way. I thought about this for a while, yesterday, and it does seem slightly plausible, if a little dumb! <a href="https://AGameAWeek.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Cassette_50_K7_Cascade_Games_1985_Standard_Jewel_Case_-_Front.jp...

A list of games you can download, and play in Windows. Most systems can suitably handle most of these games, so no need to worry if you've a slow machine. To help neaten things up, I've moved all my main Platdude games to their own (URL "https://AGameAWeek.com/?page_id=2">JNKPlat) page. The (URL "https://AGameAWeek.com/?page_id=28">Greenie) page has become home to some of my Remakes. You can find the best of my (URL "https://AGameAWeek.com/?page_id=4">Wednesday Workshop) entries, all ripe for...
