16th February 2018
Over the past few weeks, I've noticed my highscores seemingly vanish for no reason. I initially put this down to the fact that I was compiling over and over, and occasionally deleting the build folder, thus losing the save file. Yesterday, I finally wrote a stress test for the save files, and was shocked to find that, indeed, it's losing highscores.

"Episodes 1, 2 and 3 of Stargate Origins are now available online" said the tweet. I hurried to the Apple AppStore, downloaded the StargateCommand app, and promptly paid £19.99 for "Full Access"

It's hard to focus on the actual game, when instead I'm spending time fixing all the quirks in the framework.

Seems I've broken a few bits of the framework, this week. RSKGames has reported that the music seems to stop after a few seconds. Not quite sure why that might be, but it's definitely something to look into.

Stupid iOS! "Alert" says the debugger in XCode. And that's all. Quite what that means, I've no idea. Could literally be anything.

I've spent far too long, this week, trying to get Android and iOS Framework support up and running, but am going to have to leave it for the next few days.

I spent a bit of time looking into Pico-8, yesterday, (Spurred on by SkyBerron posting this teeny weeny version of SpikeDislike) but it's a wildly different language than I'm used to. Lots of little bytesized bits of code, and a methodology that I'm just not used to. I'm sure that, with a little more poking and prodding, I might learn to code well in the language, but for now I think I'd much rather be sticking with my new C++ Framework. But the bug is already starting to niggle awa...

Over on the Lexaloffle forums (!?), SkyBerron has done an even smaller version of SpikeDislike than my CPC 10-Liner version, from the other day. Managing to cram all the playability into just 278 characters, the game's missing even more of the combo system than my 10 liner edition. It's not easy, adding combos, when the code is that cramped! Head on over, give it a play, and be sure to give it a like whilst you're there.

Yeay! Thanks to all for testing. Rychan - I see the hitbox detection has been improved somewhat also which is cool A little more forgiving, this time. The original game was a little "too" mean when it came to bird vs flame hits!

    Pico-8? Blog
    5th February 2018
In a reply to yesterday's Ideas post, Michael Adcock (@adcockm) suggested I look into Pico-8 development. He then (via Twitter) brought up the fact that I couldn't do it with my new C++ framework, so the idea of attempting it is a little less appealing.

    4th February 2018
This Tuesday we're kicking things off slowly. Each Tuesday through February, I'll be adding to Flappadiddle-Doo, to bulk it up beyond the original concept, and fixing up any quirks in my new Framework along the way. But once we hit March, I'll be heading into the regularly unplanned insanity of AGameAWeek.

(YouTube) Finally got the Bonus Eggs working the way they should. You can now collect them, flap around with them, and earn extra points by having them with you. Next up is adding Flame Bars back into the mix, to make the levels a little more difficult to navigate around. This time I'm hoping to make the levels a little more manageable, as the previous game occasionally spawned things in insanely implausible positions!!! But, yeah, things oughta be ok with this scoring mechanic. The scores I...
