<img src="https://AGameAWeek.com/complete/Ted_Bob__s_Pet_Hammer__20101018_Logo_thumb.png"> An ever so slightly shorter edition of this week's intended game, which almost didn't happen!! Nice and playable, although it's probably much more playable on Hard than on the other two levels! This week sees the return of silly-name favourite Ted Bob, as he grabs an Amy Rose style hammer, and attacks oncoming crates. <a href="https://AGameAWeek.com/complete/Ted_Bob__s_Pet_Hammer__20101018...

This week's been super jolly. First, I couldn't settle back into the AGAW mood, then when I finally started a proper game, my Neck decided to completely screw up again, and I spent the next day and a half doing a kind of "1 line of code, 3 hours sleep" type thing. Today, I'm coding better. Which is probably just the right time for my PC to crap it's pants. The world seems to be throwing everything it's got at me, in an effort to stop me from starting AGameAWeek Year 3!!! I'm going to attempt to...

Arseholes. God damned feckin' arseholes. ---- A few weeks ago, my sister lost her job. She's currently in the midst of trying to get a new one, and so is hopping around site to site, grabbing Application forms, sending off CVs and all the other "Trying to get a job" types of things.

"Haniff" emailed me about 4 or 5 weeks ago, just as I was starting my lazyitis month, and asked if I could do a nice big video, showing how I create a game. I wasn't going to rush a game, there and then, so I figured I'd record my first AGameAWeek once I got around to starting things up again.. Turns out I haven't recorded my first AGameAWeek, because this game's shit! Still, here's a game. <a href="https://socoder.net/uploads/1/SomeGame.zip">Linkage</a> (Win only, but ...

I did post the pre-release of NeoPlatDS, this week, so that's nice. If you want to give it a whirl, try (URL "https://desmume.org/">DesMuMe), it's what I used 95% of the time during development, and has now overtaken No$GBA as my dev-emu of choice. I can't get FAT read/write working on it, though, so you'll have to make do without highscore load/saving. Other than that it runs nicely, and the default keys are easy to remember. Cursors to move, Z to throw, X to jump. Exactly the same as my Win/Lin/...

54 games. Last year I only managed about 30-odd, so I think that's pretty good going. Sure, it might not have truely actually been A Game "Per" Week, but I did at least keep the ratio up. If I hadn't taken the time out to build the framework, I probably would've actually achieved the target a little better The stats show I was pretty much on top of things up until that point, but then things got slower and slower until my buffer zone was all dried up. Anyhoo, this is a nice big lengthy re...

This weekend I'm planning on doing a nice big happy writeup about Year 2. I'll be hopping through and replaying all my year's games, and jotting down little should/shouldn't's about each one. I might even take the time to record a few seconds of each and then build up a nice big Year-2 Video. That'd be nice!! Meanwhile, I can't sit still, and have already begun a new'ish game. <img src="https://socoder.net/uploads/1/possibleNeoPlat.png">

In addition, there's a fun new tile to play with. (only 1, mind.... and I struggled to come up with t...

(Even if I do say so myself) <a href="https://socoder.net/uploads/1/RRII_MassiveDesktop.png"><img src="https://socoder.net/uploads/1/RRII_MassiveDesktop_thumb.png"></a> There's a game-logic-error in the thing, but other than that it's a nice looking desktop. It's a massive 3200x3200 pixels, but should scale nicely to your resolution... If not, feel free ...

Is it really 200, already?! Blimey!

The quickly made retrospective "look at what you've done" post..

I started writing games as a kid, went through school making silly games, and ended up with not-much-at-all to show for it. <img src="https://AGameAWeek.com/complete/JNKPlat_5_:_Resurrection_20020910A_thumb.png"> <img src="https://AGameAWeek.com/complete/JNKFruit2K2_20020807A_thumb.png">

Hmm.. This iPhing dev is taking longer than my regular AGameAWeek stuff! But I'm learning, and I'm practising, and I'm breaking and fixing things, too! Today I got loading and saving to work, I got most of my menu working, and I even got the pause button going, too! I've popped in the regular "Platdude Jingle", figured it'd do for the meantime, and.. .. Well, it's looking and feeling much more like a game, now. The code is absolutely ghastly, mind, but that can be sorted. Hopefully! Okeydoke, ...

This one didn't really turn out, so well. It's a nice nature based bee game, with lovely floaty music, and some words. <a href="https://AGameAWeek.com/complete/Barry_The_Spelling_Bee_20100629A.png"><img src="https://AGameAWeek.com/complete/Barry_The_Spelling_Bee_20100629A_thumb.png"></a> You hit Tab to highlight the flower/bee, type it's unscrambled word into Barry's Belly, then hit return. You could say that this week's been a bit of a cheat. An update isn't REALLY a whole new game. But then, I also made <a href="https://AGameAWeek.com/?p=656">ScoreRack</a>, this week, too.. So it all evens out! Good stuff!

Simply put, Awesome!!! Hop around, grab the balls, throw them at the bad guys, and paint all the white floor tiles in the colour of your pants! This week's game didn't quite turn out as well as expected. We'll call this week a fail, I think! With all the Mac stuff, I've not had a chance to do a new game. NOOoooooo!!!!!! I suppose I could rush something in the next 24 hours, but I'm much rather be playing with those extra trimming, and getting things a little nicer. First off, Gravity Bombs. Not touched it yet, but it definitely needs at least one tweak. .. the Mac's "Superior" (bah) Magic Mouse has a lot going for it, but it also has an inability to right click whilst holding down the left mouse button.
