I've started work on a universal board-drawing function that should hopefully allow me to add a number of different board games into Shoebox.

First up, I've decided to just let "Trails" be "Trails", and stop worrying about what the actual game might possibly have really been.

I've spent the past hour or so tweaking the "failed to load" functionality of the ShoeBox, and I *think* I've managed to get it to fail well, although.. Honestly, I won't know for sure until something does in fact break, and unlike most scenarios, I can't think of a quick and easy way to test this one! If you see a dead shoebox, be sure to let me know! Rest assured, however, that when it does now happen, a reset should no longer erase all of your Win/Play scores, just your current gam...

Since managing to completely fudge the site up, last night, I then spent a few hours whittling away at Game #2.

You can Play Shoebox of Games here Over the course of a couple of weeks, in February 2019, I began the creation of a small collection of JavaScript games. My aim is to, over the next few weeks/months, to slowly expand the number of games included in the pack, to create a lovely little collection of card games, word games, board games and more, all of which are playable within your browser.

I think that, for the most part, the Spider Solitaire is now roughly ready to go, but the Framework is barely finished at all! You can test Shoebox here. Spider Solitaire oughta be good to go.

Right, I'm probably going to ignore the audio issue, and plough ahead regardless. The audio tweaks can be made in the future. After all, this engine is 100% javascript, so everything is really easy to tweak afterwards, unlike most of my normal games that require recompiling and reuploading and then the player to realise there's an update, and redownload it.

Just to be extra sure that it'd work in the slightest, I added a quick test loader to Shoebox for the WordList functionality.

A very Platdude styled set of cards are ready to be used, but there's no game for them to go into, yet. Today will be about starting a new framework to cope with them.

Scoring is now in, along with the typical swooshy points that flail across the screen.

After each release, an influx of a comment bombards the pages of the site, and we get to see what people thought of the game. This week, RSKGames has decided to chip in, with thoughts of the gravity based, planet blasting game, Orbital Annihilation. You can play Orbital Annihilation here.

Today's tweaks have finally made the Chess game a bit more lively. A bit more fiddling and, hopefully, I should be able to get the difficulty back to something fairly decent. Right now it's still a little bland, and games can carry on for far too long without much of a threat, so a little more "look ahead" and things should be golden!
