Hmm.. Browser incompatibilities fail me again!!

There are an awful lot of elements that it would be great to add to the Shoebox framework, but first a few additional framework chunks need to be integrated.

Stumbled upon a fascinating website, last night. TimePix.uk shows old Ordnance Survey photos from in and around the Greater Manchester area. If you can pinpoint the OS grid reference for your house, you can flick through a selection of their photos.

Today I'll be tackling the actual functionality of the new Board functions.

First up, I've decided to just let "Trails" be "Trails", and stop worrying about what the actual game might possibly have really been.

KORG Gadget 2 released, yesterday morning, on iOS, Mac and also now on Windows. As such, I took a day off from coding, and instead spent the day playing with the iOS edition of the app.

I did a few tweaks to the framework, yesterday. There's now a mute button in the pause/escape menu, which works.. (For a few hours, it was there, but did absolutely nothing!!)

... But is it actually better?!

Had another "This game isn't possible" email, this morning, about the blocking of the Draw Pile in Spider Solitaire. On the one hand, I guess I need to add a little more ingame, onscreen instructional stuff. On the other hand.. People just want Klondike, don't they!!! So that'll be today's task. Spend a few hours trying to replicate the "classic" solitaire, and see how easy it is to get it working, without needing to rewrite too much of the overall engine. (And preferably fix t...

Today's my birthday, so not much is planned for my day!

Strings is more or less functional, although it's missing different playmodes, and the scores aren't kept, but otherwise it's working!

You can Play Shoebox of Games here Over the course of a couple of weeks, in February 2019, I began the creation of a small collection of JavaScript games. My aim is to, over the next few weeks/months, to slowly expand the number of games included in the pack, to create a lovely little collection of card games, word games, board games and more, all of which are playable within your browser.

I've added semi-persistent score handling to the Shoebox Framework, along with plenty of space to add a decent selection of scores and things into the mix. You can Test the Shoebox here!

I started drawing some little icons last night, in as simple a method as I could find.

Right, I'm probably going to ignore the audio issue, and plough ahead regardless. The audio tweaks can be made in the future. After all, this engine is 100% javascript, so everything is really easy to tweak afterwards, unlike most of my normal games that require recompiling and reuploading and then the player to realise there's an update, and redownload it.

Taking a significant chunk of the Foldapuz/Unfolded, and JNKsg code as the basis, I've managed to get a fairly decent drawing engine up and running. Text, Ovals, Rects, Lines, Plot, and the all important DrawImg are all in, and functioning as expected, albeit without any recolouring for DrawImg. (Since I'm using basic Javascript and HTML5, I'm forfeitting the ability to recolour my sprites)

A very Platdude styled set of cards are ready to be used, but there's no game for them to go into, yet. Today will be about starting a new framework to cope with them.

Wednesday was my Mum's 60th birthday, so she spent a couple of days over with my Sister. She arrived back, yesterday, and as a surprise I decided to attempt to bake her a cake!!
