Another epic space based blaster. Complaints about control scheme were all the rage for our last game, so this week I've opted for something a little bit simpler, and easier to control. Especially since it shoots for you!! <img src="https://AGameAWeek.com/complete/Space_Clusters_DX_20140617A_thumb.png"> <img src="https://AGameAWeek.com/complete/Space_Clusters_DX_20140617B_thumb.png">

Last month, I set aside the whole month to create a nice and lengthy month-long project. Blockman Worlds surprisingly took just a week to create, and then I was right back to the regular AGameAWeek schedule!! This month, I opted to delve into something even bulkier, and the resulting game is really quite nice. Oddly, it took alarmingly longer than expected, so isn't quite as chunky as I'd like it to have been. As it is, though, it's a wonderful little highly playable local-multiplayer edition of DynaBla...

So far so good on the JNKBombers front. Most of Battle Mode's features are implemented as planned. Human players, AI players, Bombs, Shield, Coins, Shop and today I added a few cheap-as-chips themes into the mix for good measure. There's only 6 themes, but it's enough to keep it marginally interesting! Over the next couple of days, I'll keep tweaking away at the AI, and maybe add some new powerups, but otherwise I'm now at the point where I can say "Yeah, that's what I wanted to play!!" Still a coupl...

As the game continues to get built up, I've started to work on a generic looking menu system for it. I've just added my first Amiga game to my Jayenkai Archive. I've had access to the disk's files for a long time, but never got around to getting the compiler stuff up and running. Today, I finally buggered about with WinUAE and my collection of Amos disks, and got Amos Pro Compiler up and running. One of the hardest things in the world of AGameAWeek is when you take time off. The past week has been chaotic at home, and things got a bit down in the realm of the real-world. As such, I opted to take the week off from AGameAWeek, mostly because my mind wasn't in the right place to be designing fun little games. The week off left me a little bored, and as is usually the case when in that mindset, I started to look back through the past few weeks and dig through the stats. One of the most depressing s...

Forums are a bit of a dying artform, lately. Between Facebook and Twitter, the idea of having to signup to a specific site for a conversation, when you could equally have that conversation over Twitter is all a bit daft and unnecessary. What can I say, I'm a grumpy old geezer, who prefers things oldskool!! That's not to say I don't "get" Twitter. I use it a lot.. .. A LOT!! And it's great for quick responses, too. Ask a question, anything you want, and generally get an answer within about a minut...

What would happen if someone in the past was given a list of modern day videogame titles? What kind of games would they imagine from far off in their future? And what sort of games would they create, on their retro-tastic 8-bit home computers!? This week I've decided to resurrect the classic "(URL "https://AGameAWeek.com/GameList.php?ShowJust=108">Future Classics)". In the spirit of the original, this collection will be made up of short minigames, each one taking the title from a current-gen game, but being created in the spirit of an 8-bit "rubbish" game. It's been one heck of a challenge to get the game up and running in such a short amount of time, so the initial release will be OUYA/Windows/HTML5 just like Boxsplodings, relying entirely o...

.. Sorry, I haven't suddenly added them. Instead, I've made this post in the hopes of starting a discussion on the feasibility of adding scoreboards to future AGameAWeek titles. It's something I've attempted in the past, and old versions of Microbes, Spider and others still kind-of, mostly, sort of work. But there's a few issues that are stopping me from integrating it into the current framework.

You wait months for a new AGameAWeek iOS game, and then two come along at once! Apologies that these weren't posted some time last week, but they've been sat in "Waiting for Review" status for AGES!! Much, much longer than the regular "7 days" wait.

I usually try my best to come up with unique or interesting takes on existing games. Taking things in new directions, like Blockman which definitely isn't Pacman, or TetriPong which clumped together two completely different games. Occasionally, though, it's nice to sit back, relax, and make a crazy lazy clone of something, just like everyone else. <img src="https://AGameAWeek.com/complete/Every_Good_Bird_Deserves_Flappyness_20140318A_thumb.png"> <img src="https://AGameAWeek.com/complete/Every_...
