Yesterday I started work on a Puzzobomb Level Generator.
-=-=- I'm coding the generator in BlitzMax. Since I can't quite get the generator to work in an instant between level loads, I've opted to pre-generate the levels into a big list, and then copy that list over to the game's code. As such, I have a lot of leeway with exactly how slow and complicated the levels can be built up. Unfortunately, that's not quite working out. So far, most of the levels that are being generated have blindingly obvious solutions, and there doesn't seem to be a quick and easy way to solve that. I'll no doubt be spending most of today doing the same thing, and trying my best to get some decent hard levels out of the thing. .. although, I'll try not to overdo things, like last year's Biscuit game!! Unfortunately, since I'm stuck at this early stage, it probably means I won't have time to actually get the game done for Tuesday. I fully expect this game to be another "two week"er, if I even manage to get it working at all. Views 62, Upvotes 14
