So, I think I might throw a giant spanner into the works..
-=-=-
Current version on the left, possible half-edition on the right.
i'm thinking of chopping the screen in half, in portrait mode, and using the top half for the game, and bottom half for controls.
This is a big decision. But the outcome will be that everything slots together a little bit nicer.
I guess the main thing I have to ask is... Is anyone actually playing Browsercade on their phone?
Or, maybe even more importantly.
...
Is anyone actually playing Browsercade...?
Hmmm.
So, I might just do that. If you want a bigger-screen, you can always rotate it to widescreen and play that way.
Would everybody be ok with this outcome?
Let me know in the comments/Discord
[verse]
Take away the bottom half to fit the little buttons.
For up and down and left and right and fire button, too.
Shrink the game to half its size and squeeze it to the top.
Then when the gamer plays away, they'll never want to stop.
(yeay)

[Dave and Brian are huddled over a steaming kettle, while Green watches from a safe distance.]
Dave: Look at that colour! It's like a sunset in a cup!
Green: I wouldn't say a sunset. Unless it was on an alien world.
Brian: The Purple really does manage to make everything more vibrant.
Green: Haven't we learned anything from yesterday?
Dave: But Greenie, this is different! We're not putting it in the ventilation system this time.
Brian: And you're not sneezing.
Green: No, you're just making people drink it. I'm not sure this is a good idea.
[Mrs Thompson enters]
Mrs Thompson: What's that peculiar smell? New ScrunchCake flavours?
Dave: It's our new ScrunchTea! With a hint of Purple!
Mrs Thompson: Nobody likes Purple, Dave.
Brian: (enthusiastically) And it only slightly stains your teeth!
Green: Only slightly? Well, that's reassuring.
[Dave takes a dramatic sip through a semi-melted straw]
Dave: (with exaggerated appreciation) Mmm! Tastes like... like...
Green: Like failure?
Dave: No! Like innovation! Like the future of beverage technology!
Mrs Thompson: (peering into the cup) It's rather... luminescent.
Brian: Purple really is a multi-purpose goop!
Green: How much of this stuff is left, anyway?
Dave: I've got tons. It seems to expand at the back of my fridge.
Mrs Thompson: Eeew.
[Dave starts pouring cups for everyone]
Dave: Come on, everyone! Time for a taste test!
Green: (backing away) I think I'll pass.
Dave: Don't be such a chicken!
Green: I'd rather have the chicken ScrunchTea, thanks.
Mrs Thompson: (taking a tentative sip) Oh my..
Brian: The aftertaste is quite... persistent.
Dave: Persistent! Yes! That's marketing gold right there! "PersisTea!"
[End credits roll as Green watches everyone's teeth slowly turn purple]
