It's not a noticeable change in the menu screenshot, today, but the swoop-glide effects that help transition between the menu and the game titlescreen are coming together ok. They only work one way, though. The majority of the menu disappears in an instant, and then the icon and logo will glide from where they are, to where they're meant to be.
Going back, there's no transition, and things just "blup" back into place. Should be easy enough, though, to say "move all the menu elements offscreen so they swoop back in", although the icon and logo won't be doing that!
(New Version)
Nice and bright and bold, now. No darkened logo in the background.
I need to change the actual buttons, now, since they no longer look the part.
Oh, and you might like the fact that I've kept the sidebar.
I was very nearly going to get rid of that, but.. Nah, sidebars are still cool, right?!
I've stripped out the "I guess I thought it looked cool at the time" scrolling wibbly wobbly thing on the left, so the menu can shuffle across a bit instead of being shoved into the middle where it is.
(Old version)
So, the game mode buttons are next. Just a little tweak, I guess, but they definitely need to stand out a bit more.

I never really wanted to be doing what I'm doing,
As it seems to be more work than only I could ever do.
If I want to add some features to the website that I've made,
Then I guess I have to fix all the foundations that I laid.
(yeah)
[verse]
What has it all come to? Trying to repair.
Things I wrote much earlier. Built it up with care.
Now it seems I'm tearing down, trying to rebuild.
Gonna make it better, so that people will be thrilled.
(yeah)
[bridge - light, airy]
There's no rainbows. There's no hills.
There's not even a cloud up in the sky.
This menu might be quaint,
I'll fix it with a lick of paint.
Beyond the menu, you will see,
The game plays how it's meant to be.
Before you get there, there's more work to do.
[beat] I'm gonna do it.

Int. Dave's Games and ScrunchCakes - Ventilation Shaft
[Dave is wearing a ridiculously oversized dust mask and attempting to dislodge something from the ventilation shaft. Greenie stands below, holding a big bin bag.]
Dave: (coughing dramatically) Operation Purple Purge, Stage Five! The enemy shall not pass!
Green: (deadpan) The purple can't hear you, Dave.
Dave: It's symbolic! The Purple... it clings! Like a big.. tenacious.. Purple.
[Dave pokes at the shaft with the brush. A large clump of dried Purple falls down into Greenie’s bin.]
Dave: Did you get that?
Green: (grimacing) It stinks.
Dave: Of Purple?
Green: Of failure.
Dave: It's a complex aroma! A testament to the enduring power of ScrunchCakes.
Green: I'd like to see how enduring they are if we only sold Purple.
[Dave continues poking, dislodging more Purple.]
Green: You know, we really should invest in a proper cleaning system. Something that doesn't involve you looking like a deranged chimney sweep.
Dave: (waving him off) A chimney sweep, Greenie. I'm not sure where you're getting the deranged bit from.
Green: From down here.
Dave: Besides, this is a learning experience! A deep dive into the ecosystem of Dave's Games and ScrunchCakes.
[Green sighs and starts retrieving more Purple with a long grabber tool.]
Dave: You know, I was thinking... maybe we could incorporate Purple-themed games? Like, a ScrunchCake-matching puzzle game. Or... Purple Pac-Man!
Green: Dave, I'm not sure how to break it to you, but I don't think anyone cares about the games. And I’m definitely sure that nobody wants to play a game about Purple.
Dave: (thoughtfully) You never know! People love novelty. And Purple is so amazingly vibrant!
Green: (muttering) I need a vacation. A very long vacation, far away from Purple.
[Dave stares intently at the ventilation shaft, a glint in his eye.]
Dave: Purple Joysticks! We could sell Purple Joysticks!
[Dave starts humming to himself, already envisioning a whole new line of Purple-themed merchandise.]
