The server was getting absolutely smashed, yesterday, so I had to do some tweaking.
I started by closing the Sidebar on SoCoder. That was definitely a bottleneck, with the site taking about 0.15 seconds with the sidebar, but 0.03 without.
Yikes!
So, when the server was being hammered, a ton of CPU usage went to keeping those sidebars active.
They got closed down temporarily, and I worked on a bit of optimisationalism on it all.
After all was done, I managed to get the site with sidebars down to about 0.07 seconds.
Not quite down to the 0.03, but definitely better than it was.
It's been ages since I did any hardcore PHP/MySQL optimising, and it was nice to see an improvement.
As of writing, the server's still getting hammered, but is coping much better.

Mrs Thompson: David, I told you no Cola in the designs.
Brian: Let's let the staff decide. Purple's definitely in the lead right now.
Dave: Who says nobody likes purple?
[Joe pokes his head around the door]
Joe: Those designs are quite good.
Dave: Hey, get out. This is a staff room. You aren't staff.
Joe: I like the one with the coke bottle.
Green: Don't listen to him, he's trying to destroy you, Dave.
Mrs Thompson: Who even is this?
Dave: He's one of my old neighbours. Get out!
[Mrs Thompson takes down the designs with Cola bottles. There's an alarming number of them.]
Mrs Thompson: There. Now vote for the remaining ones.
Green: Down to two, already, huh?
Dave: Blue or Purple. Who will win?
[Dave starts doodling on the whiteboard]
Dave: What if we add just one tiny Cola bottle...
All: NO!
