Yesterday, Me and Mum had another long walk in the blazing summer heatwave.
-=-=-
It's been about 3 weeks, now, and us Brits are sweltering in the summer heatwave.
Gosh, it's warm.
Me and Mum heard about a nice nearby church, a few days ago, so decided to give it a walk/look/photo session.
The church wasn't too far away, not much further than the local Tesco, but we had to get over the busy main road.
I'm not very "secure" near busy roads, with my stumbling being a severe risk around traffic, but as long Mum's clutching onto me, we can generally navigate the crazy world of roads together.
.. Plus there's a Pelican Crossing near Tesco, so that helps.
The church was lovely to look at from the outside, but we were unsure as to whether we should go inside "for a nosey", so opted to just have a nosey at the outside, and then leave.
After that little excursion, we thought we'd try out a relatively close cafe, and that was nice, too. It's a bit out of the way, especially when you add in the struggle to cross the road. But it was a nice little cafe, with a typical "coffee-house" vibe going on.
And from there, back up towards the crossing and headed for home.
If it weren't for the fact that we had to travel up to the crossing, we'd probably have made the journey in about 3,500 steps, or thereabouts, but having to walk up to the crossing and back extended the trip to just over 5,000 steps.
It was.. OK.. But the last thousand steps or so were getting to be a struggle, and I had to sit on a garden wall for a bit of a rest on the way back.
Meanwhile
I've, so far, thought of one other thing that you could technically do with the Mode7 functionality.
Epic!
I've been adding in the Stretch and Pivot commands for Mode7 settings, (haven't written them up yet, until I'm sure of their methodology) and have also been tidying up a few more things in JSE, but .. honestly, after the walk, I was exhausted, and pretty much napped for a good few hours.
[verse - A]
Going on a summer stroll.
Off to see a lovely sight.
Go to where you want to go,
Spend all day, and take all night.
[chorus]
Walk with me. We'll take a trip.
To somewhere new for you and me.
Walking through the busy streets,
To visit somewhere kind of neat.
[break]
[verse - B]
Summer sun that lights the path,
Both on the way, and coming back.
Grab a coffee on the way,
We'll take a stroll to stretch our day.
[chorus]
Walk with me. (walk with me) We'll take a trip. (take a trip)
To somewhere new for you and me. (you and me)
Walking through the busy streets, (busy streets)
To visit somewhere kind of neat. (neat, neat, neat)
[break]
[bridge - floating]
Along the way we'll take in the sights, as we breath in the fresh air that surrounds us.
The well trodden path leads us on our journey of excitement and adventuring.
[break]
[chorus]
Walk with me. (walk with me) We'll take a trip. (take a trip)
To somewhere new for you and me. (you and me)
Walking through the busy streets, (busy streets)
To visit somewhere kind of neat. (neat, neat, neat)
[outro]
Walk with me. (walk with me) We'll take a trip. (take a trip)
To somewhere new for you and me. (you and me)
Walking through the busy streets, (busy streets)
To visit somewhere kind of neat. (neat, neat, neat)
Int. Dave's Games and ScrunchCakes - Friday Morning
[Dave and Green are trying to move display units to make space for some tables and chairs.]
Dave: Oooh, this is exciting. It's turning into an 80s Diner, especially with the Arcade section.
Green: As long as these shelves don't collapse again.
Dave: That only happened once!
Green: It's happened several times. Where did you even get these?
Dave: Temu.
Green: Aaah. They're probably only supposed to hold paper, or something.
[They lift a display unit, revealing numerous Coke cans underneath]
Green: David...
Dave: Emergency supplies.
Green: Behind the shelves?
Dave: Under the shelves.
Green: Exactly how many stashes of cola do you have in the shop?
Dave: You never know when you might need a refreshment.
[Mrs Thompson enters with a cloth]
Mrs Thompson: If you're moving things, at least clean around them all.
Dave: But the dust adds authenticity!
Green: How is it THIS dusty? We only put these up, last week.
Dave: That's what's holding everything together!
[They attempt to move another unit]
Green: Why is this one stuck?
Dave: Probably the Coke spill from when Joe was here.
Green: Everything in this shop is basically held together with Coke, at this point, isn't it?
Dave: And sausages!
Mrs Thompson: Speaking of which, the new batch is ready.
Dave: Purple?
Mrs Thompson: [sighs] Yes, David. Purple.
[Dave dusts his hands, as they all stand in what is now a fairly empty space on the shop floor.]
Dave: Alrighty! Bring on the tables!!
