Maybe "Stack, NeonPlat!" could be a title for the game..?
-=-=-
I'm starting to get the right sort of feel for this game now. The build phase is functioning as it oughta be, and the battle phase is "working", but not entirely, yet.
The Turrets aren't quite firing on all cylinders, and I need to balance their capabilities somewhat.
I also haven't quite got all the coin/credit/whatever functionality working yet, either.
I'm thinking the coins should pop up in the field, so you'd need to grab them before the battle round's over. This means, unless you don't want any build-tokens, you're going to have to run around collecting them, whilst also avoiding enemies and maybe even helping to defend the castle.
Things are definitely progressing in an interesting way, but I've still a whole lot of coding to do before it's all done.
There's still time to make suggestions in the comments or the Discord if you'd like to steer this game in a specific direction!!
.. I've still no idea what next week's game will be, though.
[verse]
Neon glows are beaming through the castle.
(Shining brightly like the sun)
Coloured paths that shine to light the way.
(It seems like neon fun)
I'm running through the landscape with my neon tools, (na-na-naa-na-na)
To build another glowing neon tower in the darkness. (bada-da-da-da)
[chorus]
Holding a flower in the field. (dee-dee-dee)
I'm glowing so everyone sees me. (dee-dee-dee)
As I stand here in the darkness, alone. (dee-dee-dee)
With my epic glowing flower, shining brightly in the field. (dee-dee-dee)
[break]
[verse]
As I wander through the glowing paths of colour,
(There's a light beneath my feet)
Shadows dance along the beaming walls,
(Where the darkness meets the light)
The air is buzzing softly with electric hums, (na-na-naa-na-na)
And I place another tower in the ever-glowing night. (bada-da-da-da)
[chorus]
Holding a flower in the field. (dee-dee-dee)
I'm glowing so everyone sees me. (dee-dee-dee)
As I stand here in the darkness, alone. (dee-dee-dee)
With my epic glowing flower, shining brightly in the field. (dee-dee-dee)
[break]
[bridge]
Electric lights are flickering, (beep) pulsing like a heartbeat, (beep)
Lines of colour guide me, (bee) I follow where they lead. (beep)
Though the night is heavy, (beep) and paths are hard to see, (beep)
I hold my flower tightly (beep) it's just a part of me. (beep-beep-beep)
(beeeeeep)
[break]
"Cartoon @Derek stands alone in a dark field with a flower.
Holding a flower in the field. (dee-dee-dee)
I'm glowing so everyone sees me. (dee-dee-dee)
As I stand here in the darkness, alone. (dee-dee-dee)
With my epic glowing flower, shining brightly in the field. (dee-dee-dee)"

Int. Dave's Driveway - Morning
[A Double Decker bus is parked at an alarming angle at the end of Dave's driveway. Dave stands proudly next to a rickety wooden ramp while Green looks on in horror]
Dave: Seven buses out of two wooden planks!
Green: This doesn't seem like a good idea, Dave.
Dave: It's for authenticity! You can't review Wheelie without recreating the famous bus jump scene.
Green: You didn't go into space when you reviewed Elite last week. Couldn't you just... write a normal review?
Dave: Where's the fun in that? Look, I even borrowed Matt's old motorbike!
Green: He agreed?
Dave: He won't mind. Probably.
[Dave starts positioning the bike]
Green: Those planks look awfully.. ... Awful
Dave: Recycling! And I reinforced them with some stuff from my fridge.
Green: The fridge? I'm not sure the few bits of limp lettuce qualify as reinforcement.
Dave: I used some of the purple goo. Perfect adhesive! Better than superglue!
Green: Dave, this might actually be really dangerous.
[Dave climbs onto the bike]
Dave: OK, start recording!
Green: For insurance purposes?
Dave: Nope! For the review!
Lady Computer: *displays worried face through the window*
Green: Even your computer thinks this is mad.
Dave: Nonsense! This'll be bigger than my Tetris review!
[Dave revs the engine]
Green: Wait!
Dave: What?
Green: I'm just making sure that this is definitely a good idea?
Dave: It's only bad if you miss the shot!
Green: It's also bad if you miss the ramp.
Dave: I can't possibly miss. This is website-review gold!
[End credits roll as Dave prepares to launch himself toward certain doom while Green dials 999]
