It's still Advent, but I'm still not doing Advent this year, so here's a silly little game, instead.
-=-=-
Yesterday was a bit of a slog, if I'm honest. I started this game fairly early in the day, but it dragged and it dragged and it dragged.
It was half past midnight before I was done, and even then there's no way to die!
Really should've planned ahead, but I'm not doing Advent, this year.
Guide the same Santa character from the other day, through a curiously empty set of rooms, in search of the lost Elves, and bring them all back to the sleigh in time for a nice big Xmas Bonus!

What I Didn't Do
I haven't added ANY death to this game. Not a single iota of doom!
Instead, there's a kinda lame timer, and a combo bonus if you get all the elves in one go.
I'll let you decide if the lack of death makes it better or worse.
Let us know your thoughts, in the comments!
[verse]
I haven't got a plan yet,
I'm playing all of this by ear.
It isn't good, it isn't clever,
That's why I don't have a career.
Carry on, relax and chill.
Take your time there are no worries.
For the games that I am making,
Don't need finished in a hurry,
[chorus]
Except tomorrow.
When the daily advent calendar hits.
I guess I need to make another game,
But my head is all in bits.
Until tomorrow.
When I somehow pull myself together,
And another game is done and dusted,
Then on my blog it pops, forever.
[break]
[verse]
I hope that when the new year starts,
I no longer need to fret.
Just try to make another game,
I haven't thought of yet.
I'll need some kind of plan of action,
A list of great ideas.
Or repetitiveness will take my hand,
And drag me through my fears.
-=-=-
[chorus]
Except tomorrow.
When the daily advent calendar hits.
I guess I need to make another game,
But my head is all in bits.
Until tomorrow.
When I somehow pull myself together,
And another game is done and dusted,
Then on my blog it pops, forever.
[break]
[Bridge]
I’m wrestling with the music,
And coding somewhat blind,
The pixels scream, the shaders cry,
My schedule is behind.
But then a spark, a silly thought,
An alien playing Tetris!
And suddenly, this fever dream
Becomes less of a mess.
[outro chorus]
Except tomorrow.
When the daily advent calendar hits.
I guess I need to make another game,
But my head is all in bits.
Until tomorrow.
When I somehow pull myself together,
And another game is done and dusted,
Then on my blog it pops, forever.

[Dave's living room. The A.I. Tree is now adorned with working musical lights, and Dave is at his PC]
Dave: Just need to match these RGB values perfectly...
Green: Haven't we had enough technical disasters this week?
Dave: Yesterday wasn't a disaster! It was a test run!
Green: A test run that blew all your fuses.
Dave: But look how perfect it is now! Just like my PC wallpaper!
[Dave clicks something on his computer]
PC: Don't you dare sync those lights with me!
Dave: Too late!
[The Christmas lights pulse in perfect sync with the PC's screen]
PC: I feel violated.
A.I. Tree: Welcome to my world.
[Dave adjusts more settings]
Dave: Now watch this! When I play an episode of Voyager...
Green: Please pick a new show to watch. Anything from the 21st century would be great.
Dave: Hey, that's not fair. The end of Voyager was in the 21st century.
Green: Only just.
PC: Dave, my processors are getting warm.
Dave: That's because you're calculating!
Green: I really shouldn't be getting warm just from plucking colours.
Dave: Don't blame me, it's modern graphics cards, they seem to be crap at that.
Green: Maybe I should bring around my 286? That would probably be able to do it better.
[The lights start pulsing in sync with the TV show]
Dave: See? Perfect! Wow, even the Cola cans on the coffee table are glowing to reflect the stars in the background!!
Green: No, those are actually reflections, Dave.
Dave: They're MEANT to be reflections!
Green: No, they ARE reflections.
Dave: Exactly!
PC: Can I go back to proper calculations now?
Dave: Not until we've matched every colour in my Cola can collection!
Green: How many colours are in your Cola collection?
Dave: Only about 247...
[Both PC and A.I. Tree groan electronically]
