I'm not doing Advent, this year, so when I don't make a game, and just make a piece of music, then that's ok, because even though it's Advent season, this isn't an Advent thing, and I'm not doing Advent.
Recorded Xploration turned out well enough. In an ideal world, I'd've made an epic sci-fi video for that, too, but who has the time?
Certainly not me, and not just because of Advent. ... I'm not doing Advent.
I started the morning by jotting down a little melody, and before you could say "you're supposed to be making a game", I'd written most of the Choon and had already started hearing a vague set of lyrics in my head.
Rather than code the game, then, I continued to allow inspiration to do its thing, and within the space of just a day, I'd got everything wrapped in a little bow, ready to upload.
[verse]
I didn't make a game, No I made a silly tune.
And the silly little tune it has some lyrics.
So I jotted down some words about an alien, absurd,
And how the captain saved his daughter in her quarters.
(Danger, danger)
[chorus]
Safe in her room, as the alien arrived. (uh oh)
and it killed everybody else inside the rocket. (rawr)
The captain shot his laser at the alien invader, (pew pew pew)
But did any of them manage to survive? (is anybody there?)

Or was the daughter, then, the only one alive? (stay safe)
[break]

I'm not sure quite what happened.
I should've wrote a game.
But the inspiration hit me,
And then that became my aim.
To create a little ditty,
'bout the captain of a ship.
And the alien invader,
Who had come to conquer it.
(look out!)

Now I'm sitting here and pondering,
What made me write this song?
Was it space or was it lasers,
Or the plotline all along?
Maybe just the notion,
Of a captain bold and brave.
Or the twist of fate where someone,
Might be left alone to save.

Dave: They're here! My special Christmas lights!
A.I. Tree: I hope they bring us joy and happiness.
Dave: They're super awesome! I got music-interactive lights.
Green: [entering] Oh no, not more musical modifications. I hope these are wired.
Dave: Of course they're wired. They're lights, silly! But, no, the base is bluetooth, so they can sync to whatever music is playing!
[Dave starts untangling the lights]
Dave: Ow! Static shock!
Green: It's Friday the 13th, Dave. Maybe we should wait?
Dave: Nonsense! What could possibly go wrong?
A.I. Tree: Please don't burn me.
[..several hours later]
Dave: Now, watch this! They'll pulse in time with my Cola Symphony!
[The lights flicker erratically]
Green: That doesn't look right...
Dave: Must be the wrong frequency. Let me adjust...
[All the house lights suddenly dim]
A.I. Tree: My processors are tingling...
[Dave frantically adjusts settings]
Dave: Just need to tweak the...
[Sudden power surge, the room lights up like a particle fountain]
Dave: WOAH!
[The lights start flashing in a bizarre pattern]
A.I. Tree: Is it meant to be spelling out "DOOM" in Morse code?
Green: Dave, maybe you should unplug them...
Dave: But they haven't synced with the music yet!
[The paper Cola cans start smoking]
A.I. Tree: MY DECORATIONS!
[Chaos ensues]
Dave: Quick! Save the tiny Colas!
Green: Save the house more like!
A.I. Tree: I TOLD YOU THIS WOULD HAPPEN!
[Power cuts completely]
Dave: Don't worry, I have emergency Cola!
Green: That's not going to help!
Dave: It always helps!
[In the darkness, we hear a can of coke being opened]
[End credits]
