Spent a bit more time faffing about with Pixelcubes, yesterday.
-=-=-
Over the past week or so, I've been experimenting with the probability of getting some really nice high resolution pictures out of Pixelcubes, and it's kinda half going well, but also kinda not doing.
Take this image, for example (click to embiggen!)
It looks lovely, until you start to look closely. Like the far right of the lower m.
Zoomed and Enhanced.
There's a lot of little hairline fractures where the cubes aren't quite lining up correctly, and it's very obvious the more enhancements you do to the image.
I'm currently working on adding some sort of Focal camera setup, but once you add any blur to the image, the cracks become insanely apparent.
Which is a shame, because if I can get this working the way I'd like it to, then it'd take a heck of a lot of complications out of the workload, as far as rendering nice big desktop images of the daily pixelart is concerned.
And, of course, there's the fact that I'm running this on an Apple Silicon browser, and goodness knows how bad it might be on anything lower-specced.
I'll keep trying, though. Optimising! Optimising!!!
Those cubes won't beat me!! Rawr!!
[verse]
The boxes will not beat me. (boxes)
I'll keep on fighting onwards. (fight fight)
My battle with the pixel cubes, (pixel)
Progresses ever forwards. (forever)
[chorus]
I gotta fight (FIGHT! Fight! Fight!)
Fight the pixels (Fight the pixels)
Fight the cubes (Fight the cubes)
Fight the lines they leave behind (they leave behind)
Yeah, I gotta fight (FIGHT! Fight! Fight!)
Fight the pixels (Fight the pixels)
Fight the cubes (Fight the cubes)
Fight the lines they leave behind (they leave behind)
[break]
[verse]
I fight to keep the cubes in place,
Clean up every subtle trace,
Of lines that creep between the boxes,
Peeping out like little foxes.
[bridge]
How do I defeat the lines? (Lines)
Fighting anti-alias crimes. (crimes)
Smooth it all until it's fine (fine)
Shuffling boxes all the time (time)
[chorus]
I gotta fight (FIGHT! Fight! Fight!)
Fight the pixels (Fight the pixels)
Fight the cubes (Fight the cubes)
Fight the lines they leave behind (they leave behind)
Yeah, I gotta fight (FIGHT! Fight! Fight!)
Fight the pixels (Fight the pixels)
Fight the cubes (Fight the cubes)
Fight the lines they leave behind (they leave behind)

This is using the Cover function with exactly the same prompts, over and over again on itself. It's alright, I guess, but I was hoping for something more varied!
Sung by Suno
[Green enters to find Dave arranging disco lights]
Dave: Just in time! The Dancing Boar arrives today!
Green: Please tell me it's just another statue.
Dave: Of course it is! Though I did order some special effects...
[Dave points to a disco ball and several speakers]
Green: You've turned your bunker into a nightclub?
Dave: The boar needs ambiance!
[Scene Two]
Int. Dave's Bunker - Entrance Area
[Dave and Green watching a delivery van through the security monitor]
Dave: There it is! My beautiful dancing boar!
Green: At least the flea's stopped bouncing.
Dave: Only because it's sleeping.
Green: It's a STATUE, Dave.
Dave: Then why does it keep moving position?
Green: Because you keep moving it?
Dave: I haven't touched it since yesterday after it finished its night time bottle of coke.
[Scene Three]
Int. Dave's Bunker - Party Area
[The boar statue stands in the middle of a room full of flashing lights while Dave fiddles with a sound system]
Green: What's this song?
Dave: "Disco Boar" - I wrote it myself
Green: It sounds like a dial-up modem having a seizure.
Dave: The boar likes it! Look, it's swaying!
Green: That's because you've put it on wheels!
Dave: Tomorrow's going to be even better!
Green: What's tomorrow? "Five, Cat That's Alive"?
Dave: Don't be ridiculous. It's "Five, Bee In A Hive"!
Green: I'm out!
[Green Leaves]
[End credits as Dave spins the boar around on its back]
