Every day's blog for the past.. goodness knows how long, now.. has featured a picture of Greenie generated using A.I.
It took a LOT of work to get the A.I. to faithfully generate Greenie the way it does. Many many iterations of my art being fed through Stable Diffusion, using LORA generation and more, in an attempt to get the thing to understand what Greenie was supposed to be.
Lots of beaks where his long nose should be. Lots of extra arms where his necktie should be. Lots of random pupil oddities because "what the heck are those giant white balls doing over the beak!?"
I learned how to draw Greenie in a way that the A.I. could understand Greenie, and back and forth we went until things were "mostly" doable.
Only then was a set of images fed into ArtFlow.ai, and only then was I able to get out the wonderful pictures that I've been able to get.
A heck of a lot of back and forth, training both myself and Diffusion, until the perfect results were achieved.
That is to say, if I can relatively easily get the AI to duplicate my awful art-style, then frankly everyone's doomed. From professional artists to A.I. Prompters. Nobody's safe from this stuff.
My music is still my own, but the daily blog's audio is A.I. generated.
Codas, too, is a half-and-half A.I. Production. I prompt the A.I. with a silly situation, the A.I. feeds me a draft script, and I do a rewrite, all before it ends up in the A.I. section of the blog. (Click reveal under the Greenie picture each day)
But everything A.I.'ish, I've more or less confined to the daily blogs. That little A.I. Section at the bottom of the blog is pretty much all the A.I. you'll see here at AGameAWeek.
That and the "Cover Art" for recent games.
I'll occasionally chat with the chatbots to help come up with a plan for the next week's game, but that's no worse than sitting with another person in the room and spitballing ideas with them.
(IMHO)
Everything else here is coded/generated by hand. From the mediocre AGameAWeek's, to the bizarrely odd weekly music, to the daily pixelart and more.
..
... Which is to say..
I'm not making any millions from any of this.
What the heck do I have to do to make those millions!?!
[Verse]
Every day's a blog, oh, it's been so long,
Greenie's in the spotlight, AI's got it wrong,
Iterations, frustrations, art through the machine,
Stable Diffusion, LORA, making Greenie seen.
[Pre-Chorus]
Beaks for noses, arms where ties should be,
Random pupils, oh, what a sight to see,
Learning how to draw, back and forth we go,
Till Greenie's looking right, in the AI's glow.
[Chorus]
Greenie, Greenie, you're a star,
AI's got you shining far,
From beaks to ties, we made it through,
Now the world can see the real you.
[Verse]
Fed the art to ArtFlow, magic in the air,
Wonderful pictures, Greenie everywhere,
From chaos to beauty, we found the way,
Now Greenie's here to brighten up the day.
[Bridge]
Oh, the journey was long, but we stayed strong,
Greenie in the spotlight, where you belong,
Art and AI, a perfect blend,
Creating magic, my dear friend.
[Chorus]
Greenie, Greenie, you're a star,
AI's got you shining far,
From beaks to ties, we made it through,
Now the world can see the real you.
[Outro]
Greenie, Greenie, you're a star,
AI's got you shining far,
From beaks to ties, we made it through,
Now the world can see the real you.
Today's blog, fed into Microsoft CoPilot, turned into lyrics for a song, then fed into Suno.
[Dave is proudly holding up a small circuit board with a tiny speaker attached. Green enters, looking wary.]
Green: Dave, what have you done now?
Dave: [grinning] I've made an AI version of you, Greenie!
Green: [skeptically] Is that the board with the laser?
Dave: No, no lasers this time. Just good old-fashioned AI and a speech synthesizer.
Green: [approaching cautiously] And what exactly does this AI version of me do?
Dave: It gives helpful advice, just like you!
Green: [sarcastically] Oh, I'm sure it does. Let's hear it then.
Dave: [clearing throat] AI Greenie, what do you think about my new coke-powered toaster idea?
AI Greenie: [in a robotic voice] I'm not sure that's useful, Dave.
Green: [snorting] Well, at least it's got that right.
Dave: [defensively] It's still learning! Watch this. AI Greenie, should I try to make my own cola flavor?
AI Greenie: I don't believe that's a good idea, Dave.
Green: [impressed] Huh, maybe this AI isn't so bad after all.
[Scene Two]
Int. Dave's living room - Later that afternoon
[Dave is tinkering with the AI Greenie while real Green watches, sipping a cup of tea]
Dave: I think I've improved its responses. Want to see?
Green: [sighing] Go on then.
Dave: [to the AI] AI Greenie, what do you think about my plan to create a cola-powered time machine?
AI Greenie: I don't believe that's a good idea, Dave.
Dave: [frowning] That's not what I wanted it to say.
Green: [chuckling] Seems pretty accurate to me.
[Dave starts fiddling with wires on the circuit board]
Green: Dave, I really don't think you should-
[Suddenly, sparks fly from the circuit board]
AI Greenie: I presume that wasn't supposed to happen like that, Dave.
Green: [laughing] Now that's definitely something I would say!
[Scene Three]
Int. Dave's kitchen - Evening
[Dave is attempting to attach the AI Greenie to his cola fridge. Green is watching, horrified]
Green: Dave, I don't think that's a good idea.
Dave: I'm giving AI Greenie control over the cola supply. It'll be brilliant!
AI Greenie: I'm not sure that's useful, Dave.
Green: I agree .
Dave: [dismissively] You're both wrong, this'll be perfect.
[Dave starts to connect wires to the fridge]
Green: Dave, I really think you should stop-
[Suddenly, the fridge door swings open, spraying cola everywhere]
AI Greenie: I presume that wasn't supposed to happen like that, Dave.
Green: [wiping cola off his face] You know, I'm starting to like this AI version of me.
Dave: [drenched in cola] Maybe I should stick to building phones out of GameBoys.
AI Greenie: I don't believe that's a good idea, Dave.
