Today is hopefully the last day of dealing with early mornings, plasterers, and all the kerfuffle that comes of it all.
-=-=-
Yesterday was mind-numbing to the point where I couldn't even make a vague plan of action. Instead of doing anything productive at all, I ended up sitting watching a bunch of random youtube stuff, and really not getting anything done in the slightest.
This is probably the 3rd or 4th time that I've bothered to watch an entire WAN show, from start to finish, without chopping it up into a few day's worth of viewings. Such is my current mindset.
But today's the final day. (I hope)
The Plasterer should be giving the room its final skimming, and presuming nothing horrific happens (like the ceiling collapsing from the weight of the plaster, which is apparently entirely possible with these bungalows) then we really oughta be done with everything.
Wallpaper can wait until we've picked a colour scheme, and the chaos of "Empty the entire room to fit a new carpet" will likely be left until next year. Because, frankly, the chaos of the past few weeks has really done a number on both me and Mum.
I think I'm skipping AGameAWeek, this week. And considering just how much of an ALChoon I've currently managed (0%!) that might also end up being skipped, which is something I haven't done in years.
Good grief, it's really bad!!
My head vs noise and chaos.. Not good!
Top Tip : If you can avoid doing the whole "Brain Surgery" thing, I'd highly advise doing so!
[Dave is hunched over his computer, furiously typing away. Green enters, carrying his pet rock.]
Green: Dave, what are you up to now? Please tell me it's not another attempt to insert kittens into the office.
Dave: Even better, Greenie! I'm uploading the public beta of ZenOffice to the internet!
Green: Right... So who's in this public beta?
Dave: [spinning around in his chair] It's public, Greenie! That's the whole point!
Green: You mean anyone can download it?
Dave: Exactly! Soon, the world will experience the joys of zen office repair!
Green: That sounds exciting. And it'll be free?
Dave: As free as the zen that inspires it.
Green: And you make a profit, when?
Dave: After the beta!
Green: After everyone's got a free cope?
Dave: Yeah!
[Scene Two]
Int. Dave's apartment - Evening
[Dave is still at his computer, Green is pacing nervously]
Green: Dave, are you sure this is a good idea? Remember what happened with Philespitter?
Dave: This is nothing like that! ZenOffice is foolproof. Mr. Duckello approved every line of code.
Green: Your rubber duck is not a reliable code reviewer, Dave.
Dave: He's more reliable than your pet rock!
Green: At least Rocky doesn't encourage me to stick keyboards to ceilings or power calculators with coke.
Dave: Those were all essential steps in achieving true zen office mastery!
Green: I'm starting to miss the days when your strangest idea was changing font colors.
[Scene Three]
Int. Dave's apartment - Late night
[Dave is staring at his computer screen, looking worried. Green enters, yawning.]
Green: Dave, it's 3 AM. Why are you still up?
Dave: It's ZenOffice, Greenie. Something's wrong.
Green: What do you mean?
Dave: Well, remember how I said it was a public beta?
Green: Yes...
Dave: Turns out, the public doesn't really understand the zen approach to office repair.
Green: What's happening?
Dave: Well, there's a forum full of confused users. One person tried to fix their actual printer with a virtual sticky note. Another is demanding a refund because their zen-aligned stapler keeps falling through their desk.
Green: [sighs] Dave, this is why we can't have nice things.
Dave: Don't worry, Greenie! I have a plan. We'll release an update that includes a virtual vase. That'll calm everyone down.
Green: How is a virtual vase going to help?
Dave: Trust me, Greenie. In the zen world, sometimes you need to think outside the box... or inside the vase, in this case.
[As Dave starts furiously coding again, Green picks up Rocky and heads back to bed, muttering about the impending digital office apocalypse]
