I decided to try to Ask the A.I. for another idea, and though it came up with "something", I couldn't quite make it work.

AI Art Prompt : A photograph of a squirrel playing a single-player solitaire board game.
I then fed this photo back into Claude.ai, and asked it what game it thought the squirrel might be playing.
The first thought was the classic peg-jumping solitaire, but I then pointed out the fact that there's different coloured squares and pegs.
We spitballed the idea for a while and came up with this.
There's a squirrel on each of the 4 corners of the board, each one a different colour, red, green, yellow, blue.
The board is multi-coloured with each square being one of the four colours.
Starting with the red squirrel, you jump to any position horizontally or vertical.
When you land, you drop a nut of your colour. Only that coloured squirrel can, in future, leap over that coloured nut.
Whichever colour square you land on, is the colour of the next squirrel that have to move.
The game ends when the required squirrel can no longer move anywhere on the board.
That's the game.. Or, the idea, at least.
The main issue with this plan is the whole Colour Blindness issue.
In order to avoid colour blind issues in Shoebox, I've used the different shaped tokens.
As great as those have been, if I want to have playing pieces and board squares AND dropped tokens, all with the same kind of sprites, it's going to look a bloomin' mess of bright vibrant colours and symbols!
It's really not going to be easy to look at in the slightest.
So, until I can figure out a way to do that, this game idea is, I'm afraid, going to have to wait.
Which is a shame, because between the two of us, me and Claude.ai managed to come up with a really neat little idea.
I think..
Maybe..
On the plus side, I've just thought of a really interesting idea to put together something that I've not yet managed to do properly, so I might go and see just how viable that might be.
There may yet be AGameAWeek in the works for this week.
We'll have to wait and see how well this new plan comes together.
[verse]
Me and Claude are thinking of a squirrel,
Playing a game with his hat on
(hat on)
Moving his tokens through all of the squares,
And leaving his nuts on the board. (on the board)
[bridge]
It's a fun little game, and the squirrel seems happy.
With his bright red tokens on the grid. (on the grid)
He's thinking of his next move, will he move the green?
With his thinking hat, he's planning far ahead (far ahead)
[chorus]
Squirrel Cowboy, playing games
Fuzzy paws and bushy tail
Move the pieces, red and blue
Squirrel Cowboy, smart as you!
Squirrel Cowboy, playing games (he's playing games)
Fuzzy paws and bushy tail (so bushy)
Move the pieces, red and blue (and green)
Squirrel Cowboy, smart as you! (so smart)
[verse]
With a cowboy hat perched on his head,
This squirrel's got games on his mind instead. (instead)
Colourful pieces he ponders with care,
His bushy tail swishing with flair. (with a flair)
[bridge]
Bright lights twinkle, a festive scene,
As he plots his move, perhaps unseen. (unseen)
A clever creature, both fuzzy and small,
Ready for fun as evening falls. (it falls)
[catchy chorus]
Squirrel Cowboy, playing games
Fuzzy paws and bushy tail
Move the pieces, red and blue
Squirrel Cowboy, smart as you!
Squirrel Cowboy, playing games (he's playing games)
Fuzzy paws and bushy tail (so bushy)
Move the pieces, red and blue (and green)
Squirrel Cowboy, smart as you! (so smart)
"Cartoon @Derek dressed in an ill-fitting squirrel costume, with @Derek's face, for a children's birthday party, fun party, bright colourful lighting, balloons" by ArtFlow.ai
It couldn't cope with the request of a squirrel with Derek's face. It just couldn't do it!!!
[Dave is setting up a camera and backdrop for his YouTube video. He's wearing a t-shirt with "Burrow Office" printed on it.]
Dave: This is going to be great, Greenie! Our big launch video for RabbitSheet, DataBunny, and Carrot Press!
[Green enters, dressed as a squirrel]
Dave: [Shocked] Greenie! What are you wearing? I asked you to come as a rabbit!
Green: It's all they had at the costume shop. Besides, I thought it might add some variety to your rabbit-themed office suite.
Dave: [Sighs] I asked you to do one thing, Greenie.
Green: You asked to borrow my camera.
Dave: True.
Green: And set up the camera.
Dave: True, too.
Green: And set up your Youtube account.
Dave: Well, yeah. But still. Rabbit, Greenie. Rabbit.
[Scene Two]
Int. Dave's apartment - 15 minutes later
[Dave is trying to adjust Green's costume to look more rabbit-like]
Dave: Maybe if we just pin these ears a bit differently...
Green: [wincing] Ow! Watch it, Dave!
Dave: Oh, come on. It's not that bad. These aren't really your ears.
Green: Yes, but my head IS inside. I can feel the pins.
Dave: Don't worry, it'll be fine. No-one can tell on the video.
[Scene Three]
Int. Dave's apartment - 30 minutes later
[Dave is in front of the camera, with Green reluctantly standing beside him in his squirrel costume]
Dave: [To the camera] Welcome to the launch of Burrow Office! I'm here with my assistant... err... Nutkin the Rabbit!
Green: [whispers] Nutkin is a squirrel name, Dave.
Dave: [whispering back] Just go with it!
[Dave accidentally knocks over the camera, sending all his advent calendar boxes all over the floor]
Green: [sighs] Break.
Dave: Hey, what if we pretend these are your nuts? And they're square like how old cells in old spreadsheets were!
Green: Sure, and I'm certain the 72 bags of Haribo Cola Bottles will represent the inner nut.
Dave: [to the camera] And that's a wrap! Tune in next week for our tutorial on RabbitSheet!
Green: You're going to use that?
Dave: Sure!
Green: Like that?
Dave: It's awesome. We'll get a ton of views! I just need to edit out all the squirrel references.
Green: Whatever. Help me take this off.
Dave: [sat at desk] Sorry Greenie. Gotta get this uploaded, ASAP!
[End credits roll with Dave trying to edit out all of Green's squirrel-related comments, while Green painfully attempts to remove the makeshift rabbit ears from his costume]
