We're into the fourth (fifth?!) day of Summer, here in our miserably dreary and rainy UK.
I gotta be honest. I'm not doing great.
-=-=-
The heat has made my head fluid all the more viscous, and the swirling is incredibly obvious. Even walking around the house is currently a wave-filled danger-zone.
I'm trying my best to sit and relax, to chill, and take things easy. But concentrating on coding is far from my mind right now, and all I can think about is drinking another gallon of ice-cold water in a desperate attempt to keep myself hydrated.
I don't think there's going to be much coding done, this week.
Driggle da Whoop Whoop certainly hasn't gotten any more complete than it was at the weekend.
There's still no enemies, still no gameplay.
Just a weird sponge-like creature sitting happily in a cold cold dungeon, where he's cold and it's colder around him.
Oh, to be a fictional pixelated character right now!
Meanwhile...
So I awoke at half three in the morning, sweating cobs. (That might be far too regional a phrase.. .. Sweating a lot!!)
I sat up in bed, grabbed my fifty eight pint of water for the day, and did what any sane person would do.
I farted about with maths, scaling, rotations and more to generate a printable little box.
I've actually had "box_template.png" sat on my hard drive since September 2021, which is ludicrous, but in order to get everything lined up I had to do a myriad of tests and scalings and all sorts.
Last night was the night!
Couldn't focus on anything else whatsoever, so got my box working.
.. But I'm still not 100% satisfied with the outcome. There's a slight gap at the top, for starters.
I think I might also need to add an alternative version with the sides being an extension of the front image, rather than a repeat of that image.
That oughta be doable, but there's even more maths'ing involved to get that working the way I'd like.
Note : Doesn't work all that great when printed to paper. Please print to something slightly sturdier

"The Great Outdoors"
[Scene One]
Ext. Dave's Backyard - Morning
[Dave and Green are setting up makeshift desks outside Dave's window. Extension cords snake out through the window, powering their various devices.]
Dave: (struggling with a tangle of cords) This is gonna be great, Greenie! Fresh air, sunshine, and Cola!
Green: (skeptically) I'm not sure trailing all these cords out the window is the safest idea, Dave.
Dave: Nonsense! It's perfectly safe. What could possibly go wrong?
[As if on cue, they hear a familiar meow]
Dave: (groaning) Oh no, not that cat again. Shoo! Go deliver your future newspapers somewhere else!
Green: (chuckling) Maybe it's trying to warn us about the impending electrical disaster we're about to cause.
[Scene Two]
Ext. Dave's Backyard - Afternoon
[Dave is happily typing away on his computer, while Green looks uncomfortable]
Dave: See, Green? Isn't this nice? The great outdoors!
Green: (swatting at bugs) Yeah, real nice. Nothing like trying to code while being attacked by bees and wasps.
Dave: Oh, stop complaining. At least we're not cooped up inside watching Monty Python re-runs all day.
Green: (mumbling) I liked those re-runs...
[Suddenly, Dave's computer screen goes black]
Dave: (panicking) No! What happened?
Green: (sighing) I told you this was a bad idea. Let me check the connections.
[Green follows the extension cord back to the window, only to find that Dave's Cola bike is plugged in and running]
Green: Dave! Why on earth is your Cola bike plugged in out here?
Dave: (sheepishly) Well, you never know when you might need an emergency Cola trip...
[Scene Three]
Ext. Dave's Backyard - Evening
[Dave and Green are packing up their outdoor office as the sun sets]
Green: Well, despite the technical difficulties, bug bites, and questionable electrical decisions, I suppose this wasn't a total disaster.
Dave: (grinning) See? I told you it would be fun! We should do this more often.
Green: Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Maybe next time we could just, I don't know, have a picnic or something?
Dave: (gasping) A picnic! Green, you're a genius! We could bring the Coke fridge out here!
Green: (facepalming) That's not what I... oh, never mind.
[As they head back inside, they hear a meow and see the ginger cat sitting on Dave's outdoor desk]
Dave: You know, if you're going to hang around, you could at least help us carry some of this stuff inside.
Green: (laughing) Maybe it's waiting to deliver tomorrow's headline: "Local Man Turns Backyard into Electrical Hazard, Neighbours Concerned"
Dave: (chuckling) Very funny. Come on, let's get inside before I'm tempted to plug in any more Cola-themed appliances.
[They share a laugh as they head back inside, the credits starting to roll]
