Beanbag! Blog
2nd May 2024
Bought a beanbag chair off of the Amazon.

The beanbag arrived, though it had to be lurched over the garden fence as there's oodles of Gas Workmen still in the street and out house seems to have been designated "bollards, traffic cones and giant holes in the pavement" central.

Once we managed to get the giant box through the door, it was opened, the beanbag was extracted, the box disposed of, and then..
Aaaaaaahhhh...

Sitting by the back door of the house, sun blazing through, heat, breeze, lovely.
It's a really nice place to be sitting, though we could still do with rearranging a couple of bits of the dining room so there's not a giant beanbag lumbering in the middle of the doorway!!
It sure is nice to sit out there, though.
Mmm..
And we only had 2 wasps in because the door was open, so I guess that's ok, right!?
.. ugh.

The net curtain-door thing was attached to our pristine doors, and the rest of the day was spent chilling out and working on VidGen some more.

VidGen

Over on VidGen2, the interface is now looking fairly "normal", and the view has been increased to take up the empty space properly.
I've started work on the Lyrics side of things, though you can't see any of it yet, as it's very very not working!

I'm thinking of "Filtering" as the main method for managing it.
Give the first line of text a specific set of settings, (position, font, size, style, etc) and that'll filter down through the rest of the lines, unless you specifically change a line, and then you'd select whether it's an independent line or if it changes future lines.
.. Something like that.
It sounds kinda complicated the way I'm writing that, but in practice it should hopefully mean you can set the first line of text and then everything else falls into place.
..
I hope..
Maybe..

As for timings, there'll be buttons and you can Parappa-Style tap buttons to "sing along", and it'll place words onscreen with your taps, recording timings as you go. The way the engine is set up, you'll be able to retrigger the playing/recording over and over until you get the timings "just right"
..

.... Or at least, that's the plan, anyway.
I definitely need to add a load/save feature to all this!!
