I've barely coded this week's SmileBASIC game.
-=-=- ![]() I've spent so too much time spent faffing about with JSE, this week, that I've barely coded the game at all. Currently it's a small box that rolls around on some bland looking lines, and some generic spikes getting in the way. I've added bullets to the player-box, but there's nothing really "pushing" the player onwards. I'm currently thinking a big swirly storm or something... And I could really do with .. Not reusing Spike for the seven-thousandth time! And maybe better gfx. And a goal.. Oh, man, there's TONS to do! I'd better stop playing with other things, and get working on that. Meanwhile...I decided to give that Xbox GameCloud Ultimate thing a trial run, and surprisingly, it wasn't a complete disaster. Register for the trial, (£1 for the first month, then £10.99 thereafter) then log your iPad's Browser into the site. (Add to HomeScreen for proper fullscreen-age) The thing works well with a PS4 controller, which is handy, 'cos I don't have any Xbox controller's newer than the 360's. From there, I headed directly to No Man's Sky, and got it up and running within seconds. Since the games are seemingly running on Xbox Series S hardware, it's not *quite* top-notch Xbox Series X quality. But the difference in load speed for No Man's Sky was staggering!! Warping between systems is now about 5 seconds instead of the PS4's 20-30. Neat! Anyway, tech wise, there's noticeable lag of about 5 or so frames, and since the service doesn't include Sharing, there's no way to take nice hi-def screenshots and stuff. But other than that, it's a nice and capable streaming service, to the point where the quality of the stream was actually a higher resolution than I'm able to stream from the PS4 in the same room!! ![]() Screenshot taken from the iPad's stream, since there's no way to share the "actual" image from the system itself. It's certainly capable.. .. ... Of sucking about 3 hours of gameplay from my day, when I should've been coding this week's SmileBASIC game. Views 118, Upvotes 19
