I'm currently unsure whether I can get the framework running on 3DS at all, or at least, not in it's current condition.

Yesterday, I spent about 3 or 4 hours wrestling with DevKitPro, trying to figure out the best way to get my Framework running as 3DS Homebrew.

By which I mean, the controls are nice and decent, and the track is also quite nice ('ish!) but the scaling is all off.

I think I've got a decent method for doing tracks.. Maybe..
The method goes like so.
1. Draw track onto 64x64 image.
2. Convert to string of text.

OK, today I need to work out the track generation, as I didn't do a bloomin' thing on the game, yesterday!!
Instead, I faffed about with looking into 3DS Homebrew and figuring out things, there.

Everything seems nice and stable with the Win/Linux/Mac framework, but it's a shame that Android and iOS aren't currently part of the journey.
What better time then, to choose to take a really odd detour, and see if I can squeeze in a little extra.

This week's game might end up carrying over to next week, as I still have an awful amount to do, and not a whole lot of time left for this week.
(Plus, it's Easter Weekend, and we've got family showing up, so there'll be less coding time for Jay!)

Having attempted a whole host of other ideas, this week, I'm currently back to driving a car around a small track.
Top-down, 2D, probably timer-based.
Today will be about getting the physics to work, and figure out exactly what style the game will take.

So, I scrapped the Sheep Herder engine, and started a new "time trial based" engine instead.
I got a classic Thrust style gravity ship, popped it at the start of the track on the top left of the screen.
Fire for Thrust and then left and right.

I'm trying my best to figure out a nice control scheme for this Sheepdog game, but the two main methods don't appear to be working out.

I spent most of yesterday fiddling around with lots of different control methods for the Sheep Herding game.
After a number of methods, I've settled on having "Come" and "Go" buttons.

I'm not happy with the way the little sheepdog turned out, and spent ages last night trying to make it look a little more canine, and less like a rat!!
I still haven't quite figured it out.
.. I'm certainly no artist!

Quite a busy day, yesterday. Not only did I get the game finished off and posted, I also then tackled a couple of website things that I'd not yet bothered to do.

With each release comes an influx of feedback from the many people who've played the games.
This week, @RSKGames takes a look at an underwater Snake clone.

I've finally found the time to add a "Latest Scores" section to the Scoreboard page.
Click the upper-left "Latest Scores" button for an up to the minute list of the most recently posted scores.
Simple but effective!

The game's balance seems ok, now.
Although I've not really added much to the game, the balance of the three difficulties seems to be nice and level enough.

I haven't yet given a name to this week's game.
It's some kind of underwater snake-like creature.

Oh, pants..
The iPad got down to 40% before crashing, today, and once plugged back in stated it had 3% battery remaining.
That's really not good...

iPad died at 30% battery again, last night. That's not a good sign.
Ignoring the imminent failure of my own technology, I spent most of yesterday trying to get iOS and Android working again, but failing to get anything going whatsoever.

After the backup and restore, the iPad battery seems to be back to "normal" operation.
I had an hour or so of YouTube time, wrote this week's Socoder newsletter and attempted an ALChoon in KORG Gadget, and the battery was still at about 40% by around 5pm.
A lot of faffing around for functionality, but at least I don???t have to buy a new sodding iPad, now!

It doesn't help that my keyboard occasionally does double-taps, so about 5 or 6 deleted versions had me typing things like moodel, or cllick..
You can actually see a couple of double spaces in this version, but I figured they're passable!
Bah, humbug.
