A Nintendo Waffle

So, Nintendo's Switch reveal.
Interesting.
Maybe not as amazing as I was hoping for.
Rather than "OMG! NINTENDO!!" it's more of a "Yup.. We all saw that coming" thing.
I think it was the endless delays that hyped up the possibility of a special "Megaton" unveiling, but in the end all it was was the Tablet+Controllers that every leak had already said it was going to be.

Looks great, but those controllers don't look the most comfortable in the world.
But I trust Nintendo. We've seen pictures of past controllers going through multitudes of revisions to get them feeling perfect in the hands, and I expect these to have undergone the exact same set of reiteration to make them as good as they conceivably can be.

At the moment, they're not talking about Touchscreen possibilities.
Given that the screen (when connected to the hub) sits physically inside the hub, and is therefore untouchable, I can't imagine how well touchscreen will work when in console mode.
Rather than "Split the market on a single device", Nintendo might've actually opted to remove the touchscreen altogether.
That's the current rumours, and if that's the case, it'll be a shame to see touchscreen gaming disappear from the Nintendo lineup.
It's been over a decade since I personally got super-hyped about the DS's touchscreen, and to lose what has become the standard in mobile gaming ever since, seems a little odd.
I guess we'll have to wait and see.
