A year ago, OUYA was bought out by Razer, who have since launched the Forge TV based Cortex marketplace.

Cortex takes the place of OUYA, and even uses a rejigged version of the original OUYA frontend and marketplace, which continues to allow developers like myself the opportunity to release games on proper consoles, with proper controllers.

But after a year of juggling two systems at once, (both the new Cortex alongside the old OUYA) the team have decided that it's time to call it a day on the OUYA.
For the past month or so, developers have been rushing to get games in before the deadline, but now that time is up.

Today is the final day for OUYA Game Submissions.
After today, they're closing the door.

OUYA will remain as a stable system, and all that games that are currently on there should continue to operate correctly for the time being. (Or at least, until something, somewhere unforeseen, breaks it!!)
Razer are keeping the servers active, since the Cortex frontend also requires the same set of servers, so all should be good for some time to come.

But as for new games, this is the end of the road.
I've had a wild ride with OUYA.
I've met a lot of new friends along the way, and accumulated a multitude of crazed fans, too!

The adventure isn't over.
There's a lot more to come, in the shape of the Cortex/Forge.

But today is OUYA's day.

*salute*

Daily Doodle : Happy Flying

Platdude is relaxing.
Today's a sad day, as he'll be saying goodbye to a good friend.
He's taking some time out, and chilling at the beach with his kite.

Misc..

The journey is over.
What stories they'll tell.
Your games will continue,
But for you, it's farewell.
