Boxes! Blog
26th April 2023
This time last year, I was knee deep in reorganising my bedroom.

-=-=-

I bought new chest of drawers units to line one wall, and a lovely matching desk for the other side of the room.
The older bookcases were left in place, and for the most part I managed to get away with shuffling things around from one set of shelves to the other and back again.
Boxes were minimally used, but organising was done in a relatively tidy manner.

This year, I've opted to get rid of the old bookcases.
They're dark brown, and look out of place with the brighter drawers/desk that line the rest of the room.
It's like you can turn your head and switch from the bright side, to the dark side!!

Me and Mum have been discussing this oddity for a while, and have decided it's time for a redux.

The dark bookcases are going, and in their place will be a brighter set of units, with a little more storage.
The drawers of the current bookcases hold practically nothing, since they're falling to bits, with the units being cheap crap I bought from Argos a number of years ago. Having a more sturdier Ikea set of units will mean everything should be able to be stored a little better.

As it stands, we can't really shuffle things around as we dismantle the old and build the new, since the other units around the room are already chock-a-block full of chaos...
Which means, boxes...
And lots of boxes.

We're about 1/3rd of the way through emptying the units. DVDs, CDs, Wii/GameCube/Xbox/360/PS3/4 games.. They're already taking up two giant boxes in the room, and next we need to find a suitable way to store all the Star Trek Starships safely.
Ugh...

Suffice to say, not an awful lot of coding got done, yesterday!!
