Uhoh!!

-=-=-

I have a newsletter to write, today.
I also have a SmileBASIC game to start, today.
The ALChoon's done so that's good, although it's only a minute long, and the video won't export. hmm... *shrugs*

Meanwhile...

Installing things on the Amiga sure isn't fun.
Since I never had a hard drive, I deleted all the installer files from my original AMOS disks so that I could instead use the space for my own code, without having to swap disks.
This means I'm now having to access .adf files of the original AMOS installers, but those won't install from where they are, so I have to extract the .adf files onto floppy, then use the installer to get things back over to the Compact Flash.
Starting to think that using an emulator, here, might help.. But that also might corrupt my precious Compact Flash card. Hmmm...

I also have to get Blitz going. It's currently "kinda" going, based on the demo version I ripped off a CUAmiga coverdisk, but bizarrely all the menus are black text on black rectangles..
I'm hoping that's just down to it being the demo version, and will be overwriting it with my original edition with my fingers firmly crossed.

Octamed is happy as heck to have more memory to play with, so is loading quicker than I've ever seen it load, before.
It still has to do a long "Decompressing" before it pops up, though. Again, this is a version from an old CUAmiga Coverdisk, so maybe there's a pre-decompressed edition out there, somewhere? Not sure.

HippoPlayer is used for playing MOD music, but crashes horribly when I try to use it on here, which is a shame... Though, realistically, I have other ways to play music, nowadays, what with an iPad sitting by the side of the Amiga!

On top of that, I tried a few games.
Megaball runs smoothly, Deluxe Galaga is as good as it ever was, Master Blaster is working but dull in single player! I think I need a new joystick, though.. The Bolistik "works", but not very well.

Frontier : Elite II runs almost instantly. Shocking how quick that game just gets going! That's some mighty fine coding going on, there, especially considering it holds an entire galaxy.

I should probably post a few pics/vids, but I really want to get the two main bits (Amos/Blitz) fully functional first.
Then it's back to remembering how on earth I'm supposed to code in them!
