Developments

Yesterday, I finally got around to animating that cat and dog that I've been putting off for a good number of days.
I knew what I had to draw, but .. Animating?! Eeek!! And so the poor cat and dog remained undrawn, until yesterday when I practically forced myself into doing it.
And, I must admit, they turned out rather nice!
Now I just have to decide on a nice background for them, draw some obstacles, and figure out the best scoring method.



The Lester & Ralph "Puss'n'Paws" theme will only be available in the OUYA edition of the game, so if you want to play it, that'll be your only chance!!
I'm currently trying to decide what other odd themes will be added to the OUYA edition.

Mailbag

Today's mail comes from TimmyTot666 again!


I never owned a laptop until after my hospital visit.
I've never been much of an outdoors person, and most of my life was spent either in the house, at work, or out doing something where I wouldn't need a computer with me.
As such, I never saw the point of a laptop. Why bother with a mobile computer when, in all honesty, I wasn't exactly mobile..

After pretty severe brain surgery, the idea of sitting up at a desk all day didn't seem to work for me anymore. I tried a number of times to sit at my desk, but my head wasn't in the mood for doing it. It's odd to describe, but it's how I felt every time I sat at the desk. More annoying was the need to code. After many months of this behaviour, I decided to try out a laptop. I bought a dirt cheap Lenovo, and found it to be well suited to my new behaviour.
Sat on the couch, lazily slouched over the laptop, and coding away.
I managed well with Laptop#1, and after about a year of using it, I upgraded to Laptop#2.

I exclusively use the laptop to do nearly all of my development stuff, although some of the gfx and all of the Music is done on the iPad.
Between the two devices, I have a complete devkit on my couch, and that's been perfectly fine for the past 2.5 years.
Every single one of my games that you've played on OUYA has been created on the couch, on this laptop, and if that's not a good use of a system, then I don't know what is!

Lately I upgraded the MacMini, and although it is strictly a "desktop" system, it only ever gets used for brief compilations, making trailers, and other complicated "Needs a desktop" type things.

As for TV..
I have a TV!!
I also tend to lie in bed watching stuff on my iPad, as it's quite comfortable doing that.
