Developments

Well, it was somewhat inevitable that I'd keep the "Not Mario, Honest!" theme in the game.
SD3_010

After a number of tweaks and fixups, the theme doesn't look "too" Mario-esque. It's still got a Mario vibe, but it's definitely all hand drawn by an artistically incapable fool!
Job done!

Next theme..? Not sure. We'll have to wait and see what turns up!

Daily Doodle : Daily Chores

Platdude's been commanded to wash the dishes.
.. But who's doing the commanding!?

Mailbag

Today's mail comes from Timmytot666 again!

Do you ever miss the good ole days when you could program on your c64 (or alike) in BASIC and make things with your tv?

Timmytot666

I miss having an easily accessible language, and a similar language on all systems. I also miss the fact that EVERYONE used to care about programming, with books, magazines, and even TV shows getting in on the act.
Coding was everywhere, and it was a wonderful time to be interested in programming.
They've been trying to bring back that vibe, lately, but it doesn't appear to be working. Lots of people seem to be working on this idea that programming oughta be as universal as it was in the early 80s. BBC's trying, there's things like Minecraft, Raspberry Pi, PlayMyCode.com, heck even Barclays Bank are taking an interest in trying to get kids to code.
It's an attempted resurgence, but .. from what I can see, it doesn't appear to be working.
I'm hopeful that it'll all be successful, but I think it'll probably take a while before it actually happens.

And, For what it's worth, I had an Amstrad CPC 6128, which came with it's own colour monitor. I coded LOADS of stuff on it, but it all stayed fixed on that monitor.. Never on the "Big TV". It wasn't until I eventually upgraded to the Amiga, that things started to happen on the telly!

I'm nearly out of mail, again, so if you'd like to stuff my mailbag, you can do it right here, at https://bit.ly/AGAW_Mail. Send comments, questions, game ideas, thoughts and more, and they'll probably turn up here, eventually.
